Streep the defender

Meryl Streep is looking out for the best interests of women. She has harsh words for Melania and Ivanka Trump for their silence about sexual harassment. Yes, Meryl Streep certainly stands up for the protection of women everywhere.

If fact she just accused serial sexual-harasser Dustin Hoffman of overstepping his bounds by slapping her in a scene of the movie Kramer vs. Kramer. You know, that film from 1979. Over thirty-eight years ago.

Her condemnation of convicted child rapist Roman Polanski was inspiring. From the day she first went to Hollywood, Streep refused to have anything to do with Harvey Weinstein. Streep also led the outcry against Hillary Clinton and her part silencing Bill's victims.

It is great to see Streep take such a brave, non-political stand against the Trumps.

How's that again?

I am sure you have seen this bumper sticker:

Well, the people who brought you that sentiment also bring you this one:

You see, it is tolerant to accept someone who would rather kill you as look at you. But if you are hateful enough to point out that such as person does want to kill you, then you are intolerant. And that can't be tolerated.

You must be have an open mind and listen to people's opinions. If you disagree with a liberal, it must be because you have a closed mind and therefore liberals don't have to listen to you.

Frankly, I think this meme is the most accurate:

Frickity-frickin' Frackers

Evil rich land baron robber Texans (*spit!*) are not only purchasing vast chunks of land in Montana, oh no. The story goes MUCH deeper than stealing land that should be owned by (California moonbat transplant) Montanans...they donated money to...Republicans! ACK! Run for the hills...er,...Buttes!

It found that the largest donor to legislative candidates was Dan and Farris Wilks and their wives, who all list Texas as home. The group donated to more than 70 candidates, all Republicans, and generally gave the maximum contribution allowed by law to legislative candidates, $160 for a general election. The total exceeded $51,000.

Let's see; if the brothers and their wives each donate a whopping $160 to a given candidate...lick end of pencil...stick tongue out of side of mouth in concentration...erase...carry the two...that's $640 bucks! Wow! That should buy LOTS of influence in the state house, doncha think?

I wonder how all that cash stacks up to Spooky Dude's contributions. Or union contributions.

Meet Chief Thief

Chief Spence on day 23 of her "hunger strike".

Theresa Spence is the Chief of a G-d forsaken community called Allawapiskat in Northern Ontario.  The "First Nations"  band living in Allawapiskat total between 1500 and 1800 people.  In the last six years the Canadian government (i.e. me, and my fellow tax payers) has given the community $104 million dollars, most of which has not been used to provide aid or assistance to the residents.  In addition to the Federal money, the DeBeers Diamond Mining company has provided over 100 jobs and $325 million in contracts to local band business.  More than 80% of all of these funds are unaccounted for (more about that later).

In 2011 the band pleaded for help stating that residents were living in abject poverty with inadequate housing, heating, clothing, schools and food.    The band was, at the time, "co-managed" (more about that later).  The Canadian government, in an effort to improve the lot of the band members, appointed a third party manager to oversee the financial management of the band.  And this is where things start to get really interesting.  Chief Spence objected to the appointment of the third party administrator and she took the Harper government to court over their imposition of third party management in her community – and won. The courts called the government’s implementing of third party management “unreasonable.”

Fast forward to December 11, 2012 when Chief Spence decided to move her well nourished body together with an entourage of "supporters" and "spokespersons" to an "island" in the Ottawa river (Ottawa being the seat of the Canadian Federal government) to begin a "hunger strike" (more about that later).  Said strike to be in force until the Canadian PM Stephen Harper and Governor General David Johnson agree to sit down and meet to discuss her demands for no less than one week.

Returning to the unaccounted for funds, here are the details of the damming report.

Returning to the "co-manager" of the band, Clayton Kennedy, who also happens to be Chief Spence's common law husband. He (and she) apparently see no conflict of interest in his co-management of the band and his relationship with the Chief. He is quite content to invoice the band $850 a day plus expenses for his "services". They own two vacation homes in Florida, she drives an $80,000 Cadillac Escalade, and the band stock portfolio is estimated to be worth almost $9 million.

Returning to the “hunger strike” which some newspaper columnists have referred to variously as a diet/New Years cleansing. Her liquid only “diet” and by liquid we ain’t just talking water. In true ancestral style, Chief Spence is also partaking daily of fish broth and moose broth. Both of which would keep an Olympic athlete fit for months. As one astute columnist noted, Chief Spence’s “hunger strike” has far outlasted the 21 days that Ghandi never exceeded and the 26 days it took for the IRA strikers to look like walking skeletons.. And in true sacrificial mode, Chief Spence has a chauffeured car pick her up from the tepee every day to drive her to a hotel so she can shower and rest.

In a moment of what can only be explained as Christmas madness, Stephen Harper has agreed to meet with Spence on December 11, 2012.

Chief Spence announced today that she will not attend the meeting.

Steyn, 'nuff said.

With his usual temerity and hesitance, Steyn tackles "born in Kenya" Barry and "woman of color" Elizabeth Warren. Oh, and he takes no prisoners in case you were wondering.
"He was born in Kenya to an American anthropologist and a Kenyan finance minister." And then in April 2007, someone belatedly decided to "check" the 16-year-old "fact" and revised the biography, a few weeks into the now non-Kenyan's campaign for the presidency. Fancy that!
"Harvard Law School hired its first woman of color, Elizabeth Warren, in 1995." There is no evidence that Mrs. Warren, now the Democrats' Senate candidate, is anything other than 100 percent white. She walks like a white, quacks like a white, looks whiter than white. She's the whitest white since Frosty the Snowman fell in a vat of White-Out. But she "self-identified" as Cherokee, so that makes her a "woman of color." Why, back in 1984 she submitted some of her favorite dishes to the "Pow Wow Chow" cookbook, a "compilation of recipes passed down through the Five Tribes families." The recipes from "Elizabeth Warren – Cherokee" include a crab dish with tomato mayonnaise. Mrs. Warren's fictional Cherokee ancestors in Oklahoma were renowned for their ability to spear the fast-moving Oklahoma crab. It's in the state song: "Ooooooklahoma! Where the crabs come sweepin' down the plain."
Enjoy.

The True Face Of The Far-Left

When is it acceptable to call a man a "chink"? When he's a devout Christian, and you're a far-left news organization, that's when.

"Broadcast giant ESPN has apologised after an offensive and potentially racist headline appeared on one of its websites attached to an article about basketball star Jeremy Lin.
An article about the New York Knicks' Mr Lin was given the headline 'Chink in the Armor' on ESPN's mobile website, but the offensive line was removed within an hour."

Hmm, I'll bet they wouldn't have called Mr. Lin a "chink" if he were a Muslim. Or better yet, an athiest. ESPN is to sports news what MSNBC is to political news; a running sewer.

I hope Mr. Lin shrugs off the insult, as we all should when faced with such ignorance, intolerance, and bigotry.  Keep talking, progressives and Marxist fools. The mask is slipping a bit more each day.

Where Your Donation To The Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund Went

This report is devastating.

I have read other reports that were less than complimentary about the methods the Red Cross uses to collect and distribute aid. I decided a number of years ago not to make any contributions through them. We made our Haiti Relief donation through our local Jewish Federation, I trust them to use the money to aid those in need.

Gaetan Drossart, its head of mission, said it was wrong for charities to raise more than they could spend. ‘Organisations want to be in front of the cameras in an emergency to attract attention since this gets the money,’ he said. ‘The humanitarian business is no different to any other business.’
Drossart wants limits placed on the numbers of groups allowed in to disaster zones given the chaos and poor co-ordination he witnessed in the earthquake’s aftermath.

Just down the road from his office colourful wooden sheds called Transitional Shelters dot the landscape. These tiny temporary homes were built not because survivors wanted them — they would have preferred to have ruined properties rebuilt or new homes — but because donors wanted visible signs of progress.

They are taking twice as long and — at £345 million — nearly three times as much money to build as planned. The flagship community was Corail, about ten miles outside Port-au-Prince. Families were lured here with promises of clean water, medical care, education and jobs in proposed garment factories. The actor Sean Penn, who spent several months in Haiti after the quake, was among those who persuaded people to move. (emphasis mine)

Now these unfortunate people are marooned on a rocky patch of land: the factories have not materialised, there are no hospitals, the schools are inadequate and they have started being charged for water at more than twice the cost in the camps. Vast squatter camps have sprung up on the hillsides around them.

‘They promised us when we came here we would find everything we needed,’ said Marjorie Saint Hilaire, a mother of three boys whose husband was killed in the quake. ‘Now we are living in a desert.’

Oh Canada Quebec

Charming.

Stéphane Gendron, host of Face à Face, a daily talk show on Quebec’s V Television network, garnered a flood of complaints after a December broadcast where he said he supported an ongoing boycott of a Montreal store that sold Israeli-made shoes.

Products made in Israel on land stolen from the Palestinians that is walled in, in an apartheid regime where they are cut off, it’s very serious,” said Mr. Gendron, who is also the mayor of Huntingdon, a small town south of Montreal. “And a country like that does not deserve to exist.

And I'm sure Gendron was a vocal anti-proponent of French only (racist, apathied) language laws in la belle province.

Not.

Chiquita Are Bananas

The Canadian oil sands industry is facing an unlikely adversary in Chiquita Brands International, the banana company.

The Ohio-based company said it will work with environmental organization ForestEthics to eliminate shipping of Chiquita bananas with fuel from refineries that use Canada’s oil sands.

Bwahahaha...let's see how that works out for you Chiquita.

Ethicaloil.org, an advocacy group that says Americans should choose Canada’s ‘ethical’ oil over crude from dictatorial regimes in the Middle East, says it will launch a Chiquita boycott campaign soon.

“We will be launching a radio ad campaign urging Canadians not to buy Chiquita products. Canada’s oil is the most ethical in the world,” said Kathryn Marshall, spokesperson from EthicalOil.org.

“And Chiquita is a company with a terrible human rights record — just four years ago they were fined for giving money to terrorist groups in South America, and now they want to discriminate against Canadian oil?”

Hypocrite

Paul Krugman is one of the biggest hypocrites on the planet. The media has exposed many of the OWS supporters as belonging to the "1%". Oh no! Can't have that! So what's Krugman's solution to the problem? Move the bar!

If anything, however, the 99 percent slogan aims too low. A large fraction of the top 1 percent’s gains have actually gone to an even smaller group, the top 0.1 percent — the richest one-thousandth of the population.

Yep, that's right. Now it's the 0.1 %. How convenient! The brand-spanking-new rallying cry safely moves Krugman, Michael Moore, and other babbling idiots OUT of the hated "capitalist pig" category, while preserving their socialist ideological rantings AND their piles of loot.

While it can be argued that many of the OWSers crapping in our streets are homeless folks, drug burnouts from the 60s, Marxist professors, and spoiled rotten trust-fund babies, I believe that many more people support the spirit of the protest (watching events from their living rooms) and are intelligent, serious people FED UP with a broken government and a corrupt financial/banking system. I don't think Krugman's machinations will fool them one bit.

As a sidenote: why would anyone listen to Krugman anyway? His economics textbooks, used in universities everywhere, have been instrumental in running our entire economy off the road and into a mud bog. He's the LAST person I'd ask for economic advice.
