Twelve Thousand

You can run but you can't hide.

"SpaceX got the green light this week from US authorities to put a constellation of nearly 12,000 satellites into orbit in order to boost cheap, wireless internet access by the 2020s."

Remember remember the 5th of November

A bombshell from Free Republic:

If it's too small to read here, go to the link for a larger view. If this is accurate, sh*t's about to get VERY real.

I feel like I'm holding my breath, and that we're standing at a pivotal moment in history; an epic battle is about to commence for the soul of our nation.

Trump's Child Care Plan

Here is a good outline of DJT's proposal for child care/elder care.

My thoughts:

1. Holy crap, the last thing we need are more gov't programs! WTH???

2. Well, "poor" people already get "free" child care/elder care. Would this level the economic playing field for people who actually WORK for a living?

3. Would this encourage more working Americans to have more children? In turn, would this change the demographics of future elections?

4. I still despise tax "rebates". Filing taxes should not be an income stream. Period. It's wealth redistribution, and I'd like to see the EITC shitcanned.  However, that may be a battle for another day, and another administration, if we can get this runaway train turned around.

5. DCA's may be fine and dandy for the $250 thou crowd, but most working Americans are making   $50-70 thou, living paycheck to paycheck, and would not benefit from this at all.

6. How will paid maternity leave affect small businesses? Will they be exempt? It's already ridiculous that small businesses are required to pay both state and federal UE tax. And how can a small business possibly cover for an employee being absent for 6 weeks? This proposal is unrealistic for small businesses, IMO.

I have lots of questions, and his plan needs to be clarified.

I give it two thumbs down. However, I will still cast my vote for Trump because he's the only game in town. Hillary as president is not an option. We can elect a true conservative next time around (if we can find one).

That's my two cents, if it's even worth two cents. What do you all think?

Today's Sermon

Brought to you by Pastor Erick Erickson. Listen to your betters, lest the fire consume you!  And the lions eat you!
You describe yourself as an evangelical and you have latched on to Donald Trump. You are convinced that you can guide and shape Donald Trump’s views. Days have gone by since the Supreme Court effectively ordered a pro-life pharmacist to violate his conscience. More days have gone by since the Court’s abortion decision related to Texas. On both Trump has stayed silent. But you are justifying that silence because Trump is relying on a statement from and other evangelicals as if you are speaking for him.
To get to this point, you have rationalized in your mind that you are Daniel. That makes Trump either Nebuchadnezzar or Cyrus. But he is neither and you are not Daniel. You have twisted the Bible to comfort yourself for selling your soul. You are an idol worshipper.
Read the whole thing HERE. Really, you must read this. What an ass.

And always remember, never forget, that YOU are not Daniel. Got it?

Controlling The Narrative

Have you all been following the awful rape of a special needs little girl in Idaho? There's more:
The following is a news release issued late Friday from the office of United States Attorney Wendy J. Olson.
“BOISE – The United States Attorney’s Office extends its support to the five-year-old victim of assault, and her family, at the Fawnbrook Apartments in Twin Falls.
“The United States Attorney’s Office further encourages community members in Twin Falls and throughout Idaho to remain calm and supportive, to pay close attention to the facts that have been released by law enforcement and the prosecuting attorney, and to avoid spreading false rumors and inaccuracies.
“Grant Loebs is an experienced prosecutor, and Chief Craig Kingsbury is an experienced law enforcement officer. They are moving fairly and thoughtfully in this case,” said Wendy J. Olson, U.S. Attorney for Idaho. “As Mr. Loebs and Chief Kingsbury informed the public, the subjects in this case are juveniles, ages 14, 10 and 7. The criminal justice system, whether at the state or federal level, requires that juveniles be afforded a specific process with significant restrictions on the information that can be released. The fact that the subjects are juveniles in no way lessens the harm to or impact on the victim and her family.”
Olson continued, saying:
“The spread of false information or inflammatory or threatening statements about the perpetrators or the crime itself reduces public safety and may violate federal law. We have seen time and again that the spread of falsehoods about refugees divides our communities. I urge all citizens and residents to allow Mr. Loebs and Chief Kingsbury and their teams to do their jobs.”
As one of 93 U.S. attorneys, Olson represents the federal government in all civil and criminal cases within her state.
Olson was appointed to her post in 2010 by President Obama and has a history of taking strong stands against “anti-Muslim bias.”

Intrigue or Cowardice?

What the hell is the beef that the Mormons have with Donald Trump? This is getting ridiculous.  Mia Love is forsaking the GOP convention?
Rep. Mia Love has decided to skip the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, giving up her delegate slot to focus on her re-election bid and to go on a congressional trip to Israel.
She saw no benefit in attending the gathering where Donald Trump is expected to claim the party's presidential nomination.
"I don't see any upsides to it," Love said Friday. "I don't see how this benefits the state."
She's the only member of Utah's 40-person delegation to back out of the convention, though others are considering it, largely over opposition to Trump.
Utah Lt. Gov. Spencer Cox previously said: "I have not been supportive of Mr. Trump, and I'm not really excited to go back to a convention that's centered around him. ... There's a chance I don't go."
Running away isn't helping, it's just cowardly. Or do the Mormons have their own sneaky little plan afoot? Stay tuned, and don't touch that dial.

I'm Speechless

Tell me that this is a misprint or a bad dream.
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - CoxHealth is about to hire 100 nurses from overseas. The health system said over the past years it has experienced growth all across the board: A 10 percent growth in admissions to a 10 percent growth in emergency departments.

Chief Nursing Officer Karen Kramer said CoxHealth is trying to be proactive. Kramer said CoxHealth began recruiting it realized the region is tapped out of nurses. The nursing officer said Cox College is looking to expand it's programs but it will take years to increase numbers.
There is no "nursing shortage" in the Ozarks. The PROBLEM is that you guys pay chicken scratch and won't address staffing ratios. The patients are sicker, have more comorbidities, and you expect us to cater to them as if they were vacationing in a five star hotel. We can't safely care for 7 or 8 patients when they're that sick. There are shifts when 4 or 5 patients are too many. PLUS, we can drive to Memphis, Tulsa, or Little Rock and be paid TWICE what you pay, you effers.

Go ahead. Import your foreign nurses. Drive wages down even further. You anticipate that you can work the little brown people half to death and they won't complain, hmm?  Cox Health, you are a racist pigs.

The Unbelievable Tale

This is one of the weirdest stories I've ever read. It has intrigue, lies, cover-ups, cold war shenanigans, academic idiocy, ties across the globe, lots of sex (of the "use the whole chicken" not just the feather variety), and a writer who gnaws at the facts like a dog with a bone. Truly weird.
ON a humid afternoon this past November, I pulled off Interstate 75 into a stretch of Florida pine forest tangled with runaway vines. My GPS was homing in on the house of a man I thought might hold the master key to one of the strangest scholarly mysteries in recent decades: a 1,300-year-old scrap of papyrus that bore the phrase “Jesus said to them, My wife.” The fragment, written in the ancient language of Coptic, had set off shock waves when an eminent Harvard historian of early Christianity, Karen L. King, presented it in September 2012 at a conference in Rome.
Never before had an ancient manuscript alluded to Jesus’s being married. The papyrus’s lines were incomplete, but they seemed to describe a dialogue between Jesus and the apostles over whether his “wife”—possibly Mary Magdalene—was “worthy” of discipleship. Its main point, King argued, was that “women who are wives and mothers can be Jesus’s disciples.” She thought the passage likely figured into ancient debates over whether “marriage or celibacy [was] the ideal mode of Christian life” and, ultimately, whether a person could be both sexual and holy.

It's pretty long, but I found it intriguing and baffling all at the same time. And strange. Did I mention it was strange?

Don't Try This At Home

This is what happened when a pillar of society smoked crack through his trach tube. Not my patient, not my circus, not my monkeys. Thank goodness.

Un-frickin'-believable.

More Government Treachery

This is the kind of crap that will propel Trump into the White House, whether we like it or not. From Forbes:
"Experts both for and against the rule I have talked to agree its broad reach could extend to financial media personalities who offer tips to individual audience members, a group that includes not just Ramsey but TV hosts like Suze Orman and Jim Cramer, as well as many other broadcasters who opine on business and investment matters. They would be ensnared by the rule’s broad redefinition of a vast swath of financial professionals as “fiduciaries” and its mandate that these “fiduciaries” only serve the “best interest” of IRA and 401(k) holders.
The main focus of the Labor Department rule has been its likely effects on brokers and their customers. The rule creates a presumption against brokers taking third-party commissions from mutual funds they sell to savers. Because of this, savers who currently pay only a small commission on the execution of an order may have to pay a much larger fee based on a percentage of their assets, which would drive some brokers to simply stop serving middle-income investors. As I note in a new report for the Competitive Enterprise Institute, similar restrictions in Great Britain have caused a “guidance gap” in which brokers have largely stopped serving brokers with assets less than £150,000 ($240,000)."
What fresh hell is this? Ramsey has a ton of listeners, me included. I've learned a lot from him about a wide variety of financial matters. Also, the fees I pay my personal financial advisor are high enough, thank you. The middle class/working class is SO screwed.

China Steps Into The Abyss

This is scary. Very scary.

China’s Communist government is rolling out a plan to assign everyone in the country “citizenship scores.” According to the ACLU, “China appears to be leveraging all the tools of the information age—electronic purchasing data, social networks, algorithmic sorting—to construct the ultimate tool of social control. It is, as one commentator put it, ‘authoritarianism, gamified.’ ” In the system, everyone is measured by a score ranging from 350 to 950, and that score is linked to a national ID card. In addition to measuring your financial credit, it will also measure political compliance. Expressing the wrong opinion—or merely having friends who express the wrong opinion—will hurt your score. The higher your score, the more privileges the government will grant you.

Everything we email, post on FB, instagram, twitter, everything we post on this forum and others...the state knows us. Big Brother is watching. Could this happen here? Political scores for what? The privilege of buying a house or car? Of having vacation time? Having a child? Or even...buying food? And water?

The whole thing sends a shiver down my spine.

The Evil of Planned Parenthood

This story makes me seriously queasy. Killing babies is bad enough, but harvesting and selling their body parts? This kind of evil must come from the very pits of hell.

Warning: this video is difficult to watch.

The Dangerous and Outrageous Iran "Deal"

Tom Cotton speaks:
“I think this is madness… I believe the American people will repudiate this agreement as they learn more about it and Congress will therefore kill the deal. This is not any old vote. This is not like a vote on taxes or the debt ceiling where it’s debated for one election and then it’s behind you. Any Congressman or Senator, Democrat or Republican, who votes for this deal is putting his or her political fate in the hands of Ayatollahs for the rest of time."

Spain's New Gag Law

Wow. Just wow.
The countdown has ended. The government’s new Citizen Safety Law went into effect on Wednesday despite widespread rejection from opposition parties and many sections of society.
“Demonstrations will be freer because they will be protected from violent elements,” claims the ruling Popular Party (PP).
But the opposition accuses the government of creating “a police state” because law enforcement officers will have the power to hand out administrative sanctions that were, until now, the sole preserve of judges.
The following are five things that will be limited by the new “gag law,” as its critics call it.
READ THE REST HERE.

A few Thoughts On Ferguson

I went to bed last night as the prosecutor was giving his press conference. I'm sick of the whole incident. I woke up this morning to scenes of rioting, looting, and general mayhem. Bah.

If I owned a business or a home in Ferguson, I'd be sitting out front with a few friends, armed to the teeth with semi-auto *cough* auto *cough* firearms and tons of ammo. The police and fire department can't protect people or property in the area, and frankly, why should they put their lives on the line for an ungrateful bunch of savages who are too stupid to realize the end result of their rejection of the rule of law that civilized men live by?

All the pandering by whites to the mob is sickening. The whites assume that these ghetto blacks and their anarchist white agitators perceive the world as all educated, rational people perceive the world. It's the height of insanity. It just isn't so.

This craziness won't stop as long as Obama and Holder, and other supposedly educated blacks, egg it on. This craziness won't stop as long as idiotic white do-gooders wring their soft hands and wail about racism and injustice, marching self-righteously beside their black bruthahs, only to return to their gated, lily-white communities and lily-white jobs when the cameras are turned off.  I despise them.

Pray for the good people of Ferguson, of all races, who get up every morning and go to work, who pay their bills, who own their homes and businesses. They are being terrorized by these mobs, and it's ridiculous that these taxpaying citizens aren't being protected. Pray for the cops who have a target on their backs, and for the firemen who are risking their lives to protect people and property.

And buy ammo. This anarchy and mayhem won't be going away.
