Laughter Is The Best Medicine
This silly article was published at the NYT, correlating Trump supporters with a variety of traits, including no education and living in mobile homes. Some of the comments are priceless, but one, written by poster "fourteen" from Boston, had me literally laughing out loud:

Shut Up, K O’Donnells Explained
This is wild. A Breitbart Meetup turned into a special ops for the police departments of two Arizona cities. Make sure you watch the video; what a rowdy, dangerous bunch of extremists!
When I think of all the left wing, socialist, communist, social justice, global warming idiocy we've all been forced to endure in classrooms, restaurants, meetings, bars, etc,, this little meetup seems rather tame. I love the attendees for their sense of humor; it IS pretty ridiculous. I hope the two police departments bill the manager of K O'Donnells for the cost of the chopper. Heh.

Protection From The Zombie Apocalypse...Rippers
My favorite ammo store is getting some of these babies in stock next week. I'm thinking about buying a box for my S&W 380, and keeping one magazine loaded with these ugly looking brutes. Is this a good idea, or should I stick with 102 grain hollow points?
DWT and aridog (or anyone else), do you guys have an opinion on this? Have you experimented with these rounds? My 380 is a secondary home defense weapon behind a shotgun. I hope like hell I never have to blast a zombie, but if I do I want the intruder to stay down.

Coffee And Crumb Cake
What is all this caterwauling and rending-of-garments over the fact that the NSA and the FBI are monitoring our communications? Haven't they done that for many decades? I may not like it, but it's certainly not news.
I'm thinking this is a deliberate attempt to deflect attention from the massive abuse of power by the IRS, and to a lesser degree Benghazi and the whole "boo-hoo, I'm a reporter...you can't target me!" thing. Also on the burner are the full-frontal assault on Judeo-Christian beliefs and the continued brainwashing (and dumbing-down) of our youngsters.
Many Americans are basically stupid. Their short attention span is momentarily grabbed by anything shiny. "Oh hey, look! Wait, what were we talking about? Ummmm....like, where's my free phone, bro?"
I also find it perplexing that the hippies and radicals from the sixties who sat on their asses smoking dope and sobbing about tolerance and free love are now the suits carrying the baseball bats.
The bad guys are entrenched, and they're drunk with power. Who will lead us out of this unholy mess?
And no. I will NOT sit down and shut up, you effers. Hah!

The president's sonorous, gaseous banalities
Mark Steyn's column this morning is, as always, worth a read.
We have just began the second reign of the Emperor Obama and his cast of misfits and slithering smeagles. The conservative opposition party is ineffective, corrupt, and steeped in narcissism and outright treason. With the enactment of "immigration reform", millions of new progressive/socialist/communist/slugs will be added to the already compromised voter rolls. If Emperor Obama doesn't cling to power and claim a third term, Hillary will be a shoo-in. Or the drooling, senile Biden. Or Mooch, who somehow has forgotten to say "thank you" to all the taxpayers who funded her gilded, Ivy League education instead of educating themselves or their own children.
I'm thinking, as conservatives and sane citizens, we should concentrate our brain power, our time, and our wealth outside of the cesspool that is Washington. Let's figure out ways to remit as little coin to Caesar as legally possible. We should not comply with any mandate that weakens our Constitutional God-given rights. We should consider abandoning states that are hopelessly blue, pack up the UHaul and the business, and invest our residencies and energies on states that are almost red. We can focus on our statehouses, and elect as many true conservatives as possible. We can support blue-dog dems, because there must be a two party system. I wonder what would happen if half the people in this country turned OFF their televisions and cancelled their cable/satellite contracts?
This is what has been going through my mind.
I dunno. Maybe it's just me, but the whole joint seems to be seizing up these days: the more "activist" Big Government gets, the more inactive the nation at large.Steyn has a way with words that slices through the steaming piles of Washington crap and shreds the rotten facade that the American media struggles to protect. Most people won't read his article this morning; they'll rouse their families, cook breakfast, and bundle them off to church. They'll skip the newspaper and the nightly newscast, other than maybe a quick look at the sports or the weather forecast. They're tired of politics, and angry, and have turned their backs on the whole mess in utter frustration. They sit at their kitchen tables each month and try to stretch a stagnant wage as their dollars buy less and less, and try to prepare for the coming eruption with what little they have. They'll increase the size of their garden, buy a few chickens, and stock up on ammo when they can find it on the dusty store shelves. Such is life outside the big cities, away from the two deep blue coasts that dictate and pontificate to those who live in flyover land (or their own conservative citizens who struggle to be heard), those who work in thousands of small factories, who staff restaurants and hospitals, those that are told that $39,000 is middle class, while states brimming with government workers rake in almost twice that. The tail wags the dog.

Dirty Jobs
I was going to gather the family and neighbors together to watch the State of the Union address tonight, but my friend Mike needs my help with a few projects, and it sounds like more fun than cramming my fingers in my ears as The One flaps his lips.
Here's our first project: we'll be raking something gooey and tarry looking, while POTUS reads from the TOTUS.
Then we're planning on rolling around in coal dust or something equally icky, while Obama-Jama whines about George Bush.
And while the Chicago Jesus throws spit wads at the Repubs and the bitter clingers (in his typical dignified fashion), Mike and I will be doing something with a toilet seat. I'm not sure what, but I'm quite certain it's not as germ-infested as sitting through the SOTU.
Afterwards, while the breathless media exults the wisdom and beneficence of The One, weeping and rending their clothing in shrieking ecstasy, Mike and I will each take a big slug of whateverthehell is in this glass-looking thingie. No matter what it is, it will be more palatable than whatever NBC is serving.
Hmm...it looks like Mike has shoveled most of Obama's speech right out the barn door with the rest of the stinky stuff!
A true American hero!

Rallying The Hobbits
Whether you like him or not, Newt throws a mean right punch!
Knock out. King, and by extension the hyper-partisan media, have been publicly humiliated. It's about time someone had the guts to stand up to these weasels.

The 'Stache Endorses Mittens!
Well, heavens to murgatroyd. I didn't see this coming at all, at least not in mid-January when the campaign cycle is in it's early days.
Maybe it's for the best. If Romney is to be our candidate, then we ALL need to get behind the guy. I know there is much concern that Tea Party types like me won't support another stinky candidate, but let me assure the R establishment that I would support a week-old grilled cheese sandwich if it would depose the Obama regime. I think a majority of the Ron Paul(!) supporters will too. They'd better, or we're screwed.
A "sprinkle of levity" bonus round! A piping hot cuppa Tetley's to the first person to name the Hanna-Barbera cartoon character who uttered the phrase "heavens to murgatroyd", and the two cartoons in which he appeared.
John Bolton, the hawkish former ambassador to the United Nations under George W. Bush, endorsed Mitt Romney Wednesday night. “I think Gov. Romney is the person who can best lead the party, best articulate our conservative principles and is most likely to beat Barack Obama,” Bolton told Greta Van Susteren on Fox News.

Okay, Who Thought THIS Was A Good Idea?
You gotta be kidding me! Mark frickin' Sanford?
No. A thousand times NO.
To raise the roof, call Fox New at 1-888-369-4762.
Or you can email your favorite Fox personality at: lastname@foxnews.com (example: cavuto@foxnews.com)
Former Gov. Mark Sanford of South Carolina will soon join Fox News as a paid contributor on the network, according to The New York Times.
No. A thousand times NO.
But why would Fox pick up Sanford as a commentator? Perhaps they saw an opportunity to compete in the disgraced-ex-politician-turned-news-commentators field after Eliot Spitzer’s show on CNN was cancelled.

The Destruction Of Rick Perry
"Niggerhead", inscribed on a large, flat rock in the middle of nowhere, marked the entrance to a hunting property. The Perry family did not own this property; they merely joined a lease. Even so, Perry the Elder took it upon himself to spray paint over the place name and turn the rock on its face. A simple gesture by a good man, an action that all of us would take without a second thought. This event occurred some thirty years ago.
But that isn't good enough. The fact that Perry's dad breathed the same air as the offensive rock is a damning commentary on Rick Perry himself. Rick even hunted on the property a few times through the years, thereby also breathing the same air as the defaced, toppled rock.
Someone whom I respect, Herman Cain, made a ill-advised statement condemning Rick Perry for the words on the rock, based solely on a hit piece by the Washington Post. Not good. At all. He seems an honorable man; let's see if he walks back his hasty comment in the days to come.
Meanwhile, democrats in Perry's home state of Texas have rallied loudly and angrily behind him, claiming that Perry doesn't have a racist bone in his body. Is anyone listening?
My point is this: we cannot allow newspapers, magazines, and television networks to select our next president as they did in the last election. By inflating and embellishing this tale and plastering it on their front page, the Washington Post has unleashed a media torrent which Perry may not politically survive. How do ordinary Americans fight back against ugly yellow journalism and the media's blatant manipulation of our political process? Suggestions?

Live Bloggin' The Historic Speech Of The Century
Ow! Hey! Stop throwing those tomatoes! Yeah, I know, it's probably gonna be the same old crap. I don't expect Obama to take responsibility for any of this mess, display a modicum of grace or class, or even remotely indicate that he represents all Americans. I don't expect any flashes of insight, let alone political brilliance. It's fairly difficult to be disappointed when you expect less than nothing.
BUT, we're being told he has something to say...so pull up a comfy chair, put your feet up, and grab your television brick. It's time for the greatest show on earth!

Crazy Eyes
SpewsWeak is up to its same old garbage with their latest rag cover. This time the hateful little troglodytes may have gone too far; they've incurred the wrath of NOW. I'm shocked, I tells ya!
One of presidential candidate Michele Bachmann’s major political opponents is defending her against what it says is blatant sexism on the part of Newsweek magazine.
Monday, the National Organization for Women (NOW) spoke out against Newsweek’s most recent cover, which features an extreme close-up of Michele Bachmann and the title “The Queen of Rage.”
“It’s sexist,” NOW president Terry O’Neill told TheDC. “Casting her in that expression and then adding ‘The Queen of Rage’ I think [it is]. Gloria Steinem has a very simple test: If this were done to a man or would it ever be done to a man – has it ever been done to a man? Surely this has never been done to a man.”

Surviving The Looming Catastrophe
Here is an excellent column by Janet Daley of The Telegraph. A snippet:
H/T: HotAir
The Tea Party faction within the Republican party was demanding that, before any further steps were taken, there must be a debate about where all this was going. They had seen the future toward which they were being pushed, and it didn’t work. They were convinced that the entitlement culture and benefits programmes which the Democrats were determined to preserve and extend with tax rises could only lead to the diminution of that robust economic freedom that had created the American historical miracle.
And, again contrary to prevailing wisdom, their view is not naive and parochial: it is corroborated by the European experience. By rights, it should be Europe that is immersed in this debate, but its leaders are so steeped in the sacred texts of social democracy that they cannot admit the force of the contradictions which they are now hopelessly trying to evade.

If The Hobbits Won...
...then why aren't there any celebrations? The frantic media is placing this latest debt "deal" in the win column for the extremist, racist, terrorist "Tea Party", but that may simply be more gamesmanship to rally their base.
I'm not happy with this bill; the truth is, I doubt anyone is happy with it. I'm very uncomfortable with the fact that our national defense will be treated as a bargaining chip, and that our biggest fiscal problems, social security, medicare, and medicaid, are exempt from the first round of cuts. I'm disgusted with the $$$ amount of the cuts in discretionary spending; they are, in effect, slicing a few days worth of spending spread out over ten years. WTF? What is that going to solve?
All that being said, I would like the TP to sign off on this deal, then kick it to the progressive caucus in the Senate. Let the big spenders own the default. Conservatives need to turn their attention to drafting top-notch candidates for the 2012 election. After the election, if conservatives own both houses of congress and the presidency, we can tackle the debt and a balanced budget amendment (and term limits).
What say you, oh wise denizens of TCKT?

I enjoyed the mobile home predictor. You might also consider testing the correlation of Trumpism with hurricane incidence.
Additional variables for follow-on research are: wearing wife-beater t-shirts, ownership of pick-ups with American flag decals, obesity, burping, loud mufflers, tattoos, Budweiser drinkers, TV watchers, and the name "Bubba."
