  2. Wow! That was a real treat!

I love love love Bonamassa's guitar, and his slide gives me the shivers! The good kind. :)

I've never heard of Beth Hart. Good find Fay.

    1. I'd never heard of her either until last week lady red. I happened to be scrolling through the tv listings and the Kennedy Center Honors were on. I flipped to the channel right when the tribute to Buddy Guy was about to start and they announced that Jeff Beck was going to perform so I stayed tuned. Beck performed "I'd Rather Go Blind" with a knock out vocalist I'd never seen before. I didn't catch her name so I googled and found her. Beth Hart is now on my must have CD list!

    2. Fay, if she's in a Buddy Guy tribute, and hangin' out with Jeff Beck, I'm thinking she's the real deal!

    3. Jeff Beck sounded pretty good on the Buddy Guy tribute but a loved one needs to tell him to quit dying his hair. Just sayin'...

  4. Beth Hart...the new "Janis" and better...Trouble

I can't figure out why I like this music, but it captures me every time I hear it.

    1. It gets worse...between jobs when I was managing a veterans and punk music saloon in a ghetto corridor of Detroit I meet these guys when they played the house on a Saturday night. I can't find their best piece, called "Asylum" but Mad House Clown will do. This bit was 1988 and by 1990 when I booked them they were steriodily enhanced, let say...gorillas all and a blast to party with all night. The "Outlaws" came by late and stayed ...hell of a night.

And came Techno...as lewy 14 mentioned more or less with the EDM reference.

    2. I had to quite drinking or I suspect I'd still be in that life....:-)

    3. I never warmed up to Janis, she seemed all mouth and no trousers to me.

Beth has soul and passion and some(magic)thing else. Ima fan.

    4. Correction: "And came Techno" = "and then came techno"...

Strangely, or not, the audiences were the same.

    5. Fay....Janis was right for her time and Beth is for hers...and I acknowledge Beth has more "soul" and talent overall....but she also has that sweaty gritty carnal beauty & attractiveness that honest men can't deny. In Janis' time none of us were sure we'd wake up the next day and she fit that mentality...do it all now, there might be no tomorrow. In Beth's time with luck we'll survive.

    6. Beth could do with a couple more drinks next time. She doesn't have to do the acid like Janis did, but could be a little looser.

As for the carnal beauty... I'm a little put off by chicks that can obviously bench press way more than me... but that's just me.

All this is minuta of course, Beth is a fabulous talent.

Man, it is a moth to the flame kind of thing. When I was active in competitive sports (skiing and equestrian) I was most attracted to the women who were better than me.

    8. Lewy...what did you think of Pygmy Love Circus - Mad House Clown? Heh heh....that's about as west coast early 90's as it gets. :-))

    9. Wow... sounds like some weird combo of Smashing Pumpkins and Pearl Jam trying to do something in the style of AC/DC... ?!

  5. omg Fay that was fantastic - they are all fantastic - thanks!

I love the whole "drowning in bourbon" vibe of the lighting on stage.

  6. I never heard of either performer although I did see Beth at the Kennedy Honors, I didn't realize it was the same vocalist. Wow, I just loved this performance, I still have goose bumps on my arms!

I loved Janis, I still get choked up anytime I listen to Ball & Chain.

    1. Me too! And her rendition of "Summertime" is mesmerizing...it'll get me wailing at the top of my lungs faster than anything! (which you wouldn't want to be within five miles of, BTW. I'm a bit croaky these days.) :))
