As my father was in the Army, I lived on some military bases when I was growing up. At 5:00 PM, as I recall, you would hear the trumpet sound announcing the lowering of the flag for the day.
We were expected to stop what we were doing and stand at attention. It is heartwarming to see that this standard still exists.

It's a trollish comment to be sure, but... I wonder... are the south and the midwest going to go to war for the northeast again?
Obama may be firing a bunch of generals and installing his own goons at the top, but the soldier on the ground belongs to the American people, and the American people belong to him.
DeleteThe video put a big smile on my face. Noah grew up as an Army brat; I know he'll enjoy it too, and be heartened that not much has changed on the post playground.
