Quake, what quake. Nothin' shaking here. I'm working (in between making sure everyone at TCKT is behaving themselves) and Matt has finished his college assignments for this week, has just had a dip in the hot tub and is now sunning himself by the pool. I think this quitting work and going back to school thing is really working for him ;))

tee hee, sounds rough!
I'm glad the earthquake was a minor one; the terrorist attack chatter is eclipsing all other news here.
I wanted to embed a video synopsis of Obama's Jobs speech but it says embedding is disabled.
Er, just in case lady red or Magic Fayre get bored and want to try an embed, here's the link.
Since lady red and I did our duty and watched the whole boring thing, I think the least everyone else can do is watch the condensed version...
I didn't look but from memory, Fay, isn't Port Hardy on the north end of Vancouver Island? Which is what, three hundred miles or so from you. Regardless, glad all is well.
Speaking of... Matt, glad to see that you aren't' letting yourself get all tensed up about school. :)
florrie, I watched a small segment of the speech this morning, with the sound off. I found myself laughing like hell at the JEM. His tough guy posturing is so hilarious, like the guy has ever been in a fight in his life, right. He's never had to fight for a damn thing I suspect, verbal or otherwise. Anyway, I gave your link a look, highly amusing also. Even more I loved the expressions of Bohner and Biden in the background, you could just tell that Bohner wanted to laugh like hell himself. It's time for the old vaudeville hook to come out and pull the JEM off center stage, his act is done.
As to the market, that's becoming somewhat like what happens to Gore... when he goes to speak it gets cold as hell, when the JEM speaks the market does the same.

Now THERE'S an idea, I think I will try that next time, I'm sure I'll enjoy it much better as well, Luther!
Yes, florrie. I'm like Lewy in that regard, I haven't been able to stomach a political speech, no matter the party, in ages. So with the sound off I can pay more attention to the body language, which, often, is more indicative of a person's intent than their actual words anyway.
How about those union goons in Longview... something else aren't they. All that damage and no arrests, freaking amazing. An aside, my wife, for a number of years was an ER nurse at whatever the name of that hospital is there in Longview.
Oh... Matt, other that my employment, I'd have no aversion to the occasional 'hit'. So, old I may be, but I'm not dead yet. I might even tell you guys some stories, some day.
Hi Luther, yes it's on the west coast of the island and a long way from where we live (just under your guess of 300 miles). Plus the Georgia Strait separates the mainland from the island.
Wow, Fay, was that for REAL? Whew, talk about body language, eh?
Luther, you and your wife were our neighbors then! Yes, the longshoremen thugs are causing lots of trouble. Tom's logyard is directly across from the Port of Olympia but there has been no trouble here so far.

ReplyDeleteFay, LOL! It sounds like Matt is having a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteI don't think it was an seismic earthquake; it was our stock market crashing that registered on the Richter scale.

lady red, I KNEW the market would tank in the morning.
ReplyDeleteOh, but it's due to Euroworries.

ReplyDeleteIt appears that you two weren't the only ladies who were bored!
Yes, but Florrie and Lady Red are Ladies, not like the Mrs. JEM.
