Oh, don't make me choose! Linda's cover of Roy's classic tune is magnificent...it always gives me the chills (and I mean that in a good way).
I used to drive straight through from Del Rio, Texas (the armpit of the west) to Portland (the city of roses) several times a year for four years. I'd have the cassette player cranked up in my green-on-green Ford pickup truck, with Linda wailing her heart out. Good driving music!
I also had Roy to keep me company, as well as dozens of other greats from that era...the Eagles, Joel, Cash, Emmylou, The Band, Chicago, Skynyrd...and one of my favorites of all time; Meatloaf's "Bat Out Of Hell" album.
Good grief DWT! Blogger has been very cantankerous lately. Have you tried a different browser? Blogger doesn't have too many spastic hiccups in Firefox.
lady red, I've seen tons of concerts most of which I've enjoyed and the performers sounded great, better than their albums but in a way almost exactly how I expected them to sound.
Two people completely blew me away with their live performances, sounding way, way, way, better than on record.

Cyndi Lauper was the other.
