Family legend is that I wore out a copy of this on a 16 RPM record (remember when record players played 16?).
I have always loved this story. But I am an old softy.
This was in two-color Technicolor. Perhaps you remember Victor Jory as playing Helen Keller's father in the film version of "The Miracle Worker" staring Patty Duke from 1962.

ReplyDeleteWatching this brought to mind a few of my favorite childhood records - Pollyanna, Alvin & the Chipmunks (we liked to play that at the lower speed, tee hee) and Davy Crockett.

I do remember Victor Jory from that movie and immediately recognized his voice - didn't know his name, however. Also not sure what two-color technicolor is. Could you explain?
