Since Fay mentioned it...

Family legend is that I wore out a copy of this on a 16 RPM record (remember when record players played 16?).

I have always loved this story. But I am an old softy.

This was in two-color Technicolor. Perhaps you remember Victor Jory as playing Helen Keller's father in the film version of "The Miracle Worker" staring Patty Duke from 1962.

  2. Matt, it's remarkable that you were able to find this on YouTube! How clever, it's the first time I've seen it. I don't remember 16 RPM but then again, I'm 29.

Watching this brought to mind a few of my favorite childhood records - Pollyanna, Alvin & the Chipmunks (we liked to play that at the lower speed, tee hee) and Davy Crockett.

...kilt him a bar when he was only three...

Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

I do remember Victor Jory from that movie and immediately recognized his voice - didn't know his name, however. Also not sure what two-color technicolor is. Could you explain?

Anyway, thanks for the trip down memory lane!!
