Two Republican state senators lost their seats in recall elections around Wisconsin on Tuesday, but Republicans maintained their control of the State Senate, ultimately handing a defeat to union groups and Democrats who had spent months and millions of dollars trying to wrestle away at least some of the state’s political power.
The outcome was seen as a victory for Gov. Scott Walker, a Republican whose move to curtail collective bargaining rights for public workers this year set off a firestorm of protests, then counterprotests and finally a summer of unprecedented recall efforts.
LOL. Well, that was a good use of money.

I'm sure the events in England did not help the Democrats.
ReplyDeleteMaybe now that the union cry-babies have been heartily bitch-slapped by the prudent citizens of Wisconsin, they'll STFD and STFU.
ReplyDeleteThe campaign against Scott Walker has been an unprecedented display of idiocy and bullying. It makes my blood boil that teachers, nurses, and firefighters joined in the jack-bootied union thuggery. It's utterly shameful.
It sure was discouraging to see the teachers, etc., join the thugs, lady red. Of course, now the fringe left is saying the election was "stolen" in districts where they did not gain seats. I wonder how those teachers, firefighters and nurses will like having more of their $$ spent on this exercise in intimidation?
ReplyDeleteThe majority has spoken, the unions need to get over it. If, after next Tuesday's vote, the 3 dem seats are lost to repubs - and they actually GAIN one more seat than they had before this whole mess started, I will be delighted.
I think I saw that the accusation has been retracted, Florrie. It may also be that they are smart enough to realize this is not the time to piss people off....
ReplyDeleteOh, that's good news, thanks for the update, Matt!
