  9. Congratulations Matt...and what Kevin said, too.

OT Full disclosure...I may be back now to read and comment more regularly, if all goes well...for the past month or so I've been at war with a "bug" from a Russian ISP (located in St Petersburg) that infected my computer and was the best hidden worm I've ever had to deal with...buried within the software code of my Opera Browser....also messed up IE-8 with almost perpetual *security* notices one after the other. All very distracting and tiresome. Constantly tried to *send* information out from my PC, but was blocked for the most part...but kept trying. I got rid of it today, finally. Cue a Snoopy dance.

  11. Fay, your comment reminded me how the EDL guy that was interviewed by O'Reilly last night spoke. He was knowledgeable, calm and seemed reasonable but I smiled when he said "birf rate" "nuffink" and closed the segment with "Fank you".

    :-)

    1. I didn't hear that florrie, but it sounds like he was a cockney all right. Th is almost always pronounced f, that is unless it's pronounced vv, as in bovver!

    2. LOL! My boss has a strong cockney accent. His brother lives on Frithwood Avenue. He had to spell it out for me, letter by letter, when he wanted me to send something to him. It came out at Friffwood, or Thrifwood when he was trying too hard. :)).

    3. LMAO!!! Just like Eliza!

I love hearing cockney accents, annie; I am partial to any British accent really.

I definitely use captioning when I rent a British DVD :-)

    1. I don't know what fanking is, let alone bovver fanking, but if you ask me, it sounds kinda... dirty... ;)

By the way, I took a picture of your namesake rose (Louis XIV) several weeks ago and will post it for you next time I do a thread. It's the sweetest scented rose...

  16. I thank you all very much for your kind wishes. Even as old as I am it is still hard transitioning from one thing to another. Or maybe it is harder.

But I do appreciate the good wishes from the fine people at the table.
