America, be proud that your people still stand for your National Anthem (and what a beautiful rendition that was). Here in the once United Kingdom I cannot fly the Union Standard (often mistakenly called the Union Jack, the Flag is only called that when flown by one of Her Majesty's warships) without first obtaining permission from the local Council. This is regularly refused on the grounds that it might upset certain sectors of our population. Our County Council has banned the flying of the Flag of St. George on St. George's Day lest some not-English born persons take umbrage at such a 'racist' demonstration. The playing of our National Anthem, God Save The Queen, has almost disappeared other than when a national sports team plays for the same reason. I quote George Orwell: "England is perhaps the only great country whose intellectuals are ashamed of their own nationality. In Left-wing circles it is always felt that there is something slightly disgraceful in being an Englishman and that it is a duty to snigger at every English institution" That, unfortunately, is the case today. America, please continue to respect your country, your heritage and your FREEDOM. Non-such exists here in the once United Kingdom any longer.
My father, uncles, and cousins served in the British forces to ensure the freedom of the nation. I think they had no idea what that means now.
The freedoms they fought for apply only to the thousands of "refugees" and vagrants that enter the country by the boat load. The only freedom their decendents enjoy is to pay to feed, shelter, and be abused by the influx of freeloaders.
...oh...wow....
ReplyDeleteI think that is one of the nicest renditions I've heard. I had goosebumps on my arms!
ReplyDeleteAre these sisters? Wow, they are spot on key, very talented.

A complete and utterly shameful state of affairs.
Very heartfelt post, selsey.steve.
ReplyDeleteI'm worried we are headed down the same road; hopefully, not in my lifetime.

ReplyDeleteWhat is happening in Britain is depressing. I fear the US is following the European slide into multi-culti hell.
Fay, your comment is absolutely spot on.
