Thank you, lady red. Yes, God Bless our country. We need those blessings more than ever.
I hope you all had a fine 4th. We celebrated at my neighbors for BBQ - he graciously included us last year (we didn't know anyone here) and now we are quite good friends. We used to have a big celebration at my folks but as my dad's health dwindled and they got up in years - it changed. My younger brother sort of took it over and made it more of a day with his friends.
I know things never stay the same but I grieved over this for several years. I don't any longer but I do miss the old days (my dad died in 2005, the year we moved).
Anyhoo, not to get so self-absorbed and so off-track. We had a great time at the neighbors, I met another gardener called Catherine and shared a plant with her and Tom's band played (the cops even briefly showed up after some schmuck complained but told us "it's ok, you guys sound great and aren't too loud". All in all, a good day and I feel that I have much to be grateful for.
Florrie, I understand what you mean about the passage of time. And I don't mind you getting "self absorbed" at all. With the support you give everyone here don't you think we owe you some support?
Lee Greenwood's song still brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.

And when do we get a video of Tom's band?
