  1. You guys outshot the heck out of us! I followed the game at the link Fay posted...what a nail biter.

Now what happens? Does Canada still have a chance to play for the gold, or are they out of the medals?

  2. Thanks for the post lr.

Yes we still have a chance. What the outcome of tonight's game means is that the USA automatically gets a quarter final spot. Canada has to play and win another game (against Germany) to get a quarter final berth.

  3. An incredible win tonight by a gutsy US squad, given almost no chance and no respect by the Canadian hockey establishment, which should know better.

And standing above them all in grit, heart and determination was Ryan Kesler. It's a testament to coach Wilson's cluelessness that Kesler is penciled in on the fourth line. Despite that handicap, Kesler's play has elevated that of the entire American squad.

    Impressive as hell.

And the Canadians look like most "all-star" squad...too many chiefs, not enough injuns.

    Go USA!

  4. I agree Jourdan. Although Canada should have gone with Luongo in goal.

    Brodeur was brutal.

  5. Not out of medal contention yet!! We just get to hone our skills with one more extra game and build up our resolve to want this more than anyone else. (at least in my head we want it more than anyone else!!!)

Brodeur is a good goalie. But with Luongo in nets, at 93% accuracy - the end game would have been VERY different. Very. Very. Yes. Very.

Congrats tho to Team USA. They played a good and fast game. It was a wake up call indeed.

  6. ~KC~....er, Switzerland wasn't enough of a wake up call? That eeker should have awakened the dead. I know it stunned me.

Jourdan, ultra die hard hockey fan, has it about right...too many chiefs, not enough indians...so far. Babcock needs to be more, well, like Babcock with this crew.
