Colonel Allen West Stands Tall...

In answering a Marines question about the intent of Islam. And adds that until this country has leaders who are willing to present this message to the American people we will continue to chase our tails in regards to the dangers that not only this country but Western Civilization itself faces.

How refreshing to see such a clear and simple explanation from a public figure.

  1. Allen West tells it like it is without all the namby-pamby bullshit. I've been an admirer of his for quite some time.

A fine and admirable quality I'd say. I wish him good luck in his race for Congress.

  3. Wow!

Luther says "How refreshing to see such a clear and simple explanation from a public figure." I couldn't agree more. Isn't it a sad state of affairs when we expect spin or outright lies over the truth?

(Although I have to add that I contributed to him when he was having troubles and never got any acknowledgement from them; kind of surprised me)

  4. Islam is exactly what he said. NOT a religion, as we understand the term, but a totalitarian system of government, that was, and is, bent on completely dominating the world.

Thank you Colonel West for your honesty. I am ready to contribute to the defense fund when you are sued by CAIR for daring to tell the unvarnished truth.

  5. But Sid, it isn't how 'we' understand the term that matters. It's how our leaders understand that term. And for all intents and purposes Islam is a religion, which brings up that sticky issue of freedom of religion. I mean, if the collective 'we' have acquiesced to Scientology as a religion then how could we deny Islam the same status? It's a damn complex problem for which I have no ready answer. Islam may have been the first perfect communism. It has certainly been a worse blight upon the world... if one ignores the 100+ million that died in that failed socialist experiment.

I am too, Sidd, but don't expect a thank you.

  8. Luther, you brought up the crux of the matter. So WTH do we do? It's not a matter of no easy answers, I believe a solution is impossible without throwing our core beliefs out the window.

Yes, Florrie. That is the petard we are hoisted on. As I said, I don't have an answer. We need to find one though, else we are doomed.

  10. Sorry, Florrie. I don't mean to sound so negative... but I can't help it. There are some fundamental issues that need dialog to reach a consensus. I, as yet, have not heard the first word of such. We've become a country of Ostriches. Hope and change substituting for drawing a line and not shrink from defending it.

  11. Yeah, I don't like to be negative either, Luther, but sadly, it is what it is.

I'm like you, glad I'm in my 50s...

Hah... I should be so lucky, or would it be unlucky. :)

Our core beliefs, like the Constitution, were never intended to be a suicide pact. I do not think that we have become a nation of ostriches -- it's that our government has come under the control of people who would just as soon we cease to exist. We need to regain control -- using the legal and constitution means we have. We have information, we have means of communication: we just need to use them.

  14. Agreed, Matt, our founding documents weren't meant to be a suicide pact. But saying that doesn't take away from the fact that those documents are indeed being used to subvert the very institutions that sustain us as a nation. Subversions that amount to a drop at a time erosion of the precepts that many of us hold dear.

In my opinion this has been an ongoing problem for much longer than the current administration has been in power. As for ostriches... yes, I over generalized to a degree. There are still many who are standing tall and fighting back against those who seek to radically alter this nation. But the majority of the voters who voted in Mr. Rainbow man, who voted for hope and change without any idea of what that might actually entail, those are the folks I see hiding from the systemic changes that need take place in solving the problems we face.
