Rest in Peace

While I can't find it, I seem to remember posting on the Table a few years ago a short film about two military veterans living in a retirement home. One of the veterans is a Navy veteran. Every morning he would raise the American flag on the flag pole outside his apartment door. One morning, after performing his daily task, he notices that a new neighbor is moving in. This new neighbor is just as proud of his Army service as the first man is of his Navy service.

The Army veteran was played by James McEachin. I just found out in a Facebook group that Mr. McEachin has passed away -- in January as a matter of fact. (David Hudleston, Mr. McEachin's co-star in Reveillie, was an Air Force veteran who passed away in 2016.)

I wanted to post that video in a comment in that group as I though other members would enjoy it. However, before I found that video on YouTube, I found the next video.

While the first video may have been a fine tribute to Veterans, it appears that Mr. McEachin was not only playing a roll -- he was showing who he was in real life.

Mr. McEachin has earned his eternal rest. May he rest in peace.
