Cousin of notable blogger Michelle Malkin missing.

Missing: Marizela Perez

She is a University of Washington undergrad and she has been missing since Saturday afternoon, when she left the Rainier Beach neighborhood headed to the UW Seattle campus. Her parents have been trying to reach her all weekend; she apparently never made it to campus and has not been heard from by phone/Internet. They’ve filed a missing persons report with the Seattle Police Department. Hospitals have been alerted, according to family members, and bus and train routes have been checked. No sign.

Here’s more info we’re trying to spread via Facebook and Q13Fox/KCPQ in Seattle:

  1. Just posting here because you never know, someone somewhere may spot her. Lets hope she just ran off with a boyfriend, but this does not bode well. Keep her in prayers.

the post goes on to say:

"Seattle-area readers, can you please help get the word out — and if you or anyone you know might know anything about Marizela’s (nickname: “Em-Em”) whereabouts, please get in touch with the Seattle Police Department/UWPD or contacts listed at Facebook link above ASAP.

Marizela, if you are able to let your dad and mom know that you are okay, please contact them. You are so loved.

“Lahat ay magiging maayos” is Tagalog for “All will be well.”

May God make it so. Please keep my cousin and her family in your prayers. Thank you."

  3. Saw this in the morning, and added my prayers for her, there.

Unlikely I will see anything in central PA, but I will watch, nonetheless.

  4. Lady Red, DWT you never know where she may show up. The 1st 24 hours after you go missing is the most crucial time if you are kidnapped. That is what I have read.

  5. Her hair is distinctive.

I'm down here in Portland - a ways from Seattle, but there are a lot of young people wandering about who seem to find their way here.

    I'll keep my eyes open.

  6. an update

"Marizela still hasn’t been heard from or seen by family since Saturday.

The Seattle PD says it has probable visual identification of Marizela boarding the Othello train near her home in the Rainier Beach area and commuting into the University District during the noon hour on Saturday. A Seattle PD detective from the missing persons bureau says there’s evidence that she was last seen Saturday afternoon at the Safeway in the city’s University District on 4732 Brooklyn Ave NE between 1-2pm. At some point during that time, purchases were made on her debit card. "

  7. I'm so sorry for the family.

Maybe we should reconsider GPS implants.

Really, I don't know what to say, other than something that would be very upsetting. I suppose I already have.

  8. Yes, it doesn't bode well for her, Luther.

I don't watch much local news so I hadn't heard about this but I did check and there has still been no sign of her. Poor thing, I hope it turns out that she was just irresponsible and took off for a bit....
