Primus - Tommy the Cat

Pretty sure that the bass and guitar riffs will be appreciated by some folks here.

Pretty sure the song as a whole will fall in the well, that's int-er-esting category.

But worth a listen. Released 23 years ago, a golden oldie.

  1. ...well, that's int-er-esting

Actually not so much, more irritating (to my ears anyway) I couldn't even listen to the whole thing.

As far as music taste goes, you and me lewy are definitely "East is east and west is west and never the twain shall meet" LOL

    1. Fay, yeah, Primus isn't the most, ah, accessible band out there. True that.

    1. Hey RWC, good to see you.

I heard a riff from Jerry was a Racecar Driver the other day and was like omg, I forgot all about these guys...

    2. Thanks lewy. Great to see everyone here. Primus just sticks with me. One of the CD's that I still physically own. Maybe I just like playing it to get the WTF reaction :)

  3. And now for something entirely different!

lewy, you definitely have eclectic tastes. The bass player knocked my socks off and the lead guitar and drums were tight too. The animation reminded me of Robt. Crumb. I kind of hated the singing.

I'll have to send this to Tom. Thanks for posting it, I enjoy giving music that is new to me a listen.

GOLDEN OLDIE??? I think of U-2 and RHCPs as noobs ;-)

    1. florrie, glad you liked it, or some of it anyway.

Yeah, Primus is flashes of instrumental brilliance connected by stretches of wtf.

      Crooners, they ain't.

You're right about Crumb - I hadn't thought of that but yeah, it's definitely his style.

What's funny is that I know 40-somethings around town for whom the 90's was it; they don't follow new music anymore...
