Hey pallies, likes Miss Fay, just wanna say that I celebrate with you that you have come to a deep, pure, and true appreciation for our most beloved Dino. Never was, never will be anyone as cool as the King of Cool. Know that your Dino-reflections are bein' shared this very day with all the pallies gathered 'round ilovedinomartin. Keeps lovin' our Dino!
(Hmmm... That's a bit long- I might just stick with Fay)
Thanks for the links. Of course, now I'll be up all night listening to Dean Martin on YouTube. Funny, I know and love several Dino tunes, but can't for the life of me name a single one. I'm going through the list, playing songs and going "oh, so that's the name of that one!"
Oh, definitely Fay. I did have to listen to it though- since the name just wasn't enough to push the calculus aside in my brain for a moment. Now if it was titled "Sway with me" I might have recalled it right way. I'll be listening to Dino this morning (I pulled our lone Dean Martin cd last night so I'd remember.)
I'm old enough to have watched it too, DWT (just not old enough to have appreciated it at the time). Like Fay, I didn't really start to like him until a bit later in life. There are a bunch of YouTube clips of his show... The one with John Wayne is great
I love Dean Martin. I was thrilled beyond words when I first played Fallout: New Vegas that the first song and the name of the first quest is Ain't That A Kick in the Head. (Your character is a courier who has been shot in the head and left for dead during a routine delivery mission).
I do think, however, that he overplayed that drunk bit in the 70s. But perhaps that is only because that is the only Dean Martin I have a personal recollection of.
Very strange new set up, last two comments didn't post.

Okay, so that one posted. Still haven't figured out how to embed a video...Matt did this one.
ReplyDeleteIt was so easy before, I don't understand why they changed it.

Hi Alphie! My absolutely most favourite Dino song is Sway. Be sure to check it out.

I am old enough to have watched when Dean Martin had a weekly TV show, and enjoyed that a lot.

Hey! Another conservative Dean Martin fan!
ReplyDeleteGlad that I found your web site.
Welcome AOW and Dino - glad to 'hear' a new voice.
DeleteStick around for a while, we don't do a lot of posts here, but we do have an interesting, knowledgable and opinionated bunch of posters.
