Global Warming Runs Out Of Gas

From Rex Murphy, the only good thing, ever, to come out of the CBC:

Mr. Gore is not a happy Jeremiah. You hear him on the tape near rage, repeatedly shouting “bulls–t” over the arguments of his critics. He raves about conspiracy — a rebirth of the tactics of the dreaded tobacco industry of a few decades back. He blames “media manipulation” for the refusal of people to take up his gloomy summons. He hisses at “volcanoes and sunspots” as having much or anything to do with climate. “Bulls–!” he cries over and over — perhaps it’s the methane content that has him mesmerized with the word. Listen to this aria: “They pay pseudo-scientists to pretend to be scientists to put out the message: ‘This climate thing, it’s nonsense. Man-made CO2 doesn’t trap heat. It may be volcanoes.’ Bulls–t! ‘It may be sun spots.’ Bulls–t! ‘It’s not getting warmer.’ Bulls–t!”

Can a person win the Nobel Peace prize twice? I surely hope so, for this is the E=mc² moment of our green time.

Read it all, you know you want to.

  1. Excellent article Fay! I loved this: Some five or so years later, not a little of Stephen Harper’s success in gaining a majority government came from refusing to engage, in any serious and convincing manner, with the politics of the planet-savers. Political correctness dictates some tepid genuflection towards the obsession with a warming planet, but Harper — and people know this — can be counted on not to jump on the carbon-counting express.

I loathe it when our politicians tip their hats at the global warming cabal ($$$). Gore is a bitter old blowhard lining his silk pockets with our hard-earned cash while he jets around yelling "bullshit!" at anyone who will sit still for five minutes.

    Carney show indeed.

  2. Okay, I have deleted six spam comments in the last two days...aargh, anyone know how to block their URL's? I marked them as spam and thought blogger would block them the next time they tried but they came back with the same comments from the same sources...

  5. Great article Fay. I have never been able to get my head round the global warming thing. Some years we are sweltering (like last year) and some years (like this year) it's relatively pleasant in the summer. And even if we accept that the world has become warmer (which I don't), how does that prove that the warming is man-made? I've never come across a definitive research proving this. When the weather becomes freezing, that too is somehow shown as "global warming".

As Lady Red says, it's all just a money-making machine.

Err, no. Think, CBC Classical radio before all the oh-so-hip/contrived/noisy Radio 2 bollocks: Leon Cole; Eric Friesen; Jurgen Goethe; Bob Kerr. All with near-impeccable diction and a discerning musical ear (there were likely others before my time) functioning on a tiny budget. Also, the Texaco Metropolitan Opera.

But, now, yes- it's all shite, and both radio and TV should be simply wound up. I don't need a bunch of Ottawa/Toronto-based leftists telling me my own goddam "story" for $1B+/annum.

  7. ^^^^

    I exaggerate.

    So sue me :)

I meant, of course, that he is the only journalist/political pundit from the CBC that I would give the time of day.

  8. @ Fay 7

I knew that ;) I just don't want those four CBC Classical hosts' work to be ever forgotten- the Ceeb once served a (limited) useful purpose. Now? Feh.
