I really enjoyed those videos of Milton Friedman that I posted a couple of years ago, and I have been looking at who might make for another enjoyable -- yet educational -- series. Perhaps Andrew Klaven may fit the bill
This first video is a good one with which to start the series, as it sets the groundwork for the current discussions in the United Staes today.
Enjoy.
Matt, hard to find much to disagree with here.
ReplyDeleteThing is this kind of snark - brilliant, well played snark with an important message, but, snark nonetheless - is the kind of thing I don't take as much comfort in any more.
Scratch the surface of a snarker and you will find a business model.
Preaching to the choir, rallying the base - these are profitable business models.
Reaching across a divide and engaging in honest dialog (or trying, anyway) - not so much.
PJM/DailyCaller/TPM/Kos - making money, doing fine.
Winds of Change - was a labor of love and love ran out before money came in.
Still, it was kinda cool when some ultra-prog like Andrew Lazarus had a kind thing or two to say about a comment I'd make, or JoeK would make. Or vice versa. This doesn't happen much anymore in the blogosphere.
In the meantime we're left with a world which is making Alex Jones look saner by the day - probably my biggest beef with the world right now.
And obtw Matt Drudge I love ya' bro but if you run a big picture of that murderous f'tard creep punk on your page one more day I swear I'm gonna come smack that cosplay fedora off your head and give you noogies.
As Lewy said, this was fun and snarky, but will never really be viewed by those who need to see it, because it's not in their area of interest, unfortunately
ReplyDeleteAgreed. He's preaching to the choir.
DeleteBye the way, if you like fast-paced (though crude-languaged) crime thrillers, Klavans "True Crime" is excellent
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this Matt. I think lewy has a good point though. There is no one (that I know of) pledging their wealth and honor to restore and defend the Constitution. Some SAY they are, but in reality they're raking in tons of money.
ReplyDeleteWe have no true leaders. The best educated are...well, they aren't. Men of means and position today do not have the historical perspective, the depth of thought, or the burden of honor our forefathers wore like a mantle about their shoulders.
The best educated are...well, they aren't.
DeleteSpot on. And tweet worthy.
Logical fallacies that should exist.
ReplyDeleteBeen there, done those.
