Selling Our Children's Future

OK, it is now official.

As of last month, the National Debt has increased more in the 3 years and 2 months of the Obama Administration, than during the full 8 years of the already admittedly profligate George W Bush.

Amazingly, this information comes from CBS, although seemingly only online, instead of  television broadcast.

  1. Have not been around much to comment, lately.

But I have been reading the posts nearly every day, and still checking for spam comments.

The Marie LePen article was very interesting, and I've been mulling over a response.

The story of the soldier who apparently murdered 17 (now) Afghans is horrifying, but the view of the former military/now civilian conbat nurse was most enlightening. Still thinking of a response for that as well.

Florrie's birthday was, of course, a 'cannot miss' event.

Anyway. I've at least made up for my failure to write comments by not writing any fiction, either.

    Sigh.

Sorry to go so badly off-topic, and I will now turn this thread back to it's author.

  2. This "debt" thing is so utterly out-of-control that I don't believe it can be fixed. There are too many people getting a gov't check of one sort or another, and they'll scream bloody murder if they're asked to tighten their belts or pay their own way.

I'm pessimistic. I now believe that the whole shebang will come tumbling down around our knees. I hope I'm wrong.

  3. Thank you for what you said, Dances.

I'm pessimistic about the debt as well; Paul Ryan seems to have some good ideas but no one in the Senate will even give it a chance.
