Buycott Israel!

I posted this story on my blog but I felt it should receive as much publicity as possible, and since Aussie Dave and Brian of London at Israellycool gave their permission, here it is:

A new trend that has been developing amongst pro-Israel activists is to promote a “buycott” – the exact opposite of a boycott, that most popular tool of the BDS (Boycott Sanctions Divest) anti-Israel haters. The purpose of a buycott is to go out and buy Israeli-made products to defeat the evil intentions of the anti-Israel brigade.

My friends at Israellycool have drawn up the poster above (based on the BDS posters) and have started an internet effort to promote their Buycott Israel campaign, explaining their intentions and the method:

Go out and BUY the products and services of the companies you find listed here!

As you can see this carefully prepared graphic contains an up to date list of many companies that do business in and with Israel and which we would urge you to consider supporting.

It may just appear that we’ve borrowed the design and layout from some Jew hating BDS clowns in the UK and you’d be completely correct! This leaflet was produced in conjunction with the revolting “Islamic Human Rights Commission” who each year organise the terrorist supporting Al Quds march in London and supply the handy “We are all Hamas” or “We are all Hezbollah” posters.

Also notice that many of the companies, like Starbucks, which failed commercially in Israel, don’t operate in Israel and their only real reason for being on the list is because some part may be owned by Jews. OK, the haters will dress it up and say they are “Zionists” but as we all know anti-Zionism is just the new, disguised form of Jew hatred for the modern fascist about town.

Feel free to spread the buycott campaign and the poster amongst your friends. Just remember to give credit back to Israellycool.

Let the shopping begin!

  1. I highly recommend the Israellycool website in general. It is very funny and caustic and hits the nail on the head while nailing the anti-Semites and anti-Americans.

    1. Thanks annie, I've added Israellycool to our blog links.

    2. That's great Fay. Thanks. I'm sure you'll enjoy them. Their humour is right up my street. Aussie Dave is, well, Australian (duh!) and Brian of London is, well, English. Double duh. :)) They have a couple of new bloggers too: Zionist shark (LOL!) and Challah hu Akbar (Groan...). They're on my daily reading list.

We have had quite a few locally organized "buycotts" in Canada, a couple for Israeli wines, one for a local Vancouver shoe store that sells Israeli shoes and one for a local sporting goods co-op that carries several product lines made in Israel.

    1. I remember the first Canadian buycott a year or two ago. At the time I thought it was such a clever idea. I still do. :)

A commenter on my blog noticed that Microsoft are not on the poster. I replied that the poster is a replica of the BDS poster. The BDS-ers probably don’t want to boycott Microsoft or they’ll never be able to communicate! Hypocrisy runs rampant with them.

    A stroke of pure genius!!!

I buy my Israeli couscous, Ahava products, Soda Stream, and love love love my Naots.

Thank you so much for the list, annie! The only one I absolutely won't buy from is McDs but then I only eat burgers at Red Robin :-)

    1. LOL :). I don't buy from McD's either, not even the kosher branches here. I just don't like the taste. We were so excited when the first kosher McD opened but were so disappointed at the first bite. "This is what all the excitement was about?". We prefer Burger Ranch or Burgers Bar (they all have kosher branches here).

    1. Thanks florrie. How could I resist that cute smiley? :) But it only appears when I use my blogger profile. Sometimes I'm signed in to other gmail accounts and then I use the name/URL sign-in to comment here.

  5. I'd sworn off Starbucks because a) I quit drinking coffee, b) I could get better tea elsewhere and c) the seemed to have gone downhill lately.

But there's a real nice new shop nearby, and they're open _late_, which is awesome.

And now I feel even better about giving them my business.

  6. Not too many there I buy from day to day, But I do deal with Veolia on a weekly basis, and I am always sure to buy any Israeli products I find. The few times per year I actually drink soda, it is Coke.

Ans yeah, Israellycool is really cool. I stop by there every now and then.

  7. I stop by Israellycool occasionally; it's a great place! We already support a number of those companies. We'll make a point to Buycott a few more...but you can't make me buy pink slimy hamburger goo from McDonald's. Uh uh. No way. Icky. Gah. Bleh.

  8. Lewy, my CPU is an AMD triple core. I've always bought AMD, just because I like to support the underdog.

Plus they're cheaper for the equivalent performance.

Not wholly dispositive but I thought I'd let you know. I don't let these things influence me too much; it's difficult to get something "pure" these days. I save my actual boycots for the likes of Iran and Venezuela.

Still... next time take a look at Intel! They have a design center in Haifa!

    2. And they have a research center in Petach Tikva (my hometown)!

  9. As an aside - what is the icon beside certain names in this template?

In this thread it is only beside Annie's name, but in others I've seen it beside my name and others.

It is a grey circle with a white bar across it at a 45 degree angle.

    1. It indicates the author of the post. You only see it beside annie's name in this thread because she is the author of this post.

I think it's supposed to be a pen or a pencil.

    2. Ah! I wondered what it was too. Thanks for the explanation.

  10. Since we're on the subject of technical stuff, is there a way to put a list of Recent Posts in the sidebar? That way I don't need to flip back to the front page each time.

    2. Let's see...wrench, screwdriver, maybe a big hammer...

Ask and ye shall receive! Check out the sidebar ladies!

Lewy, I was fiddling with widgets this morning and inadvertently round-filed our recent comments. I added another widget to regain the comments, but if you want to switch it back to what we had, that's fine. :)

    3. Ruh roh. My latest comment isn't showing up in the sidebar. I think I broke lewy's commenting system.

/quietly slinking away to fetch lewy a cup of coffee and a homemade cinnamon roll....
