Just Because You're Paranoid Doesn't Mean Somebody Is Watching You
Quite Frankly, I'm not sure why this song popped into my head recently. Maybe it has something to do with a future "King" visiting Canada or maybe not.
What a great picture of the newlyweds - they look so happy together!
You must be very proud, Matt.

Summer '83 I spent in altered states in front of the tube, watching MTV. I felt guilty wasting time, but considering that this now represents the golden age of music videos, maybe it wasn't so wasted... oh and I was taking statistics and abstract algebra (groups, rings and fields... galois fields... not the galois cigarettes; different galios).
Cool video Fay! I've never seen that one before. Summer of '83? Single mom, two jobs, no time for tunes. Like florrie said; it's all a haze. :)
It's wonderful that the dashing young prince and his bride are visiting Canada...beats the heck out of asinine, pompous Charles and his squeeze stinkin' up the joint.
Try the Warmen version, off the album Accept The Fact, featuring Alexi Laiho on lead vocals. Janne Wirman can play that keyboard solo with his eyes closed! And a beer in one hand!
lol, I never heard of this before!! They didn't have a big budget for props :-) Sure sounds like Michael Jackson though.
ReplyDeleteAre you and Matt going to see the newlyweds when they visit, Fay?
IIRC, Rockwell was somebody's relative. How else would a one-hit-wonder have gotten Michael Jackson on his record?
ReplyDeleteSummer 1983. I loved the music from that time.
Florrie, the REALLY important people got married the week before those two tourists to Canada did. Wow, my son has been married two months already.
ReplyDelete""Are you and Matt going to see the newlyweds when they visit, Fay?"
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately not florrie, the furthest west they are coming on their Canadian trip is Calgary.
"Wow, my son has been married two months already."
ReplyDeleteAnd no babies yet...

ReplyDeleteOf course, that goes without saying, Fay. :-)
That's a lovely picture of them.
I didn't realize they weren't coming to BC. The Noive!
OK, at least I got the Michael Jackson part right. I was in a haze for most of the 80's...
I wonder if the Cambridges have passports....
ReplyDeleteNoive indeed!
ReplyDeleteMe, I'm off to bed.
Night xxx
And was that haze purple. Florrie? We'll excuse you as you kiss that guy. I assume he is Tom.

Matt - what a beautiful, beautiful couple! And such taste in their wedding clothes! I love them!
ReplyDeleteIn summer 1983, I was getting ready to go into third grade. Big year. That's the year we sang all the multiplication tables.
