Tuscaloosa Devastated By Massive Twister
It was only a matter of time before a well-populated city got hit. Here's one video. There are more.
The governor of Alabama has called out 1,400 National Guard troops to help with search and rescue operations. The death toll climbs every time I check; at least 159 173 are dead across the South, most of them in Tuscaloosa.
:-( OMG - that massive monster, and another 150 tornados?!? CNN had the death toll now at 231. After reading your post, I went looking for pictures elsewhere - the damage defies belief; blocks of homes are literally obliterated. To me, it looks like the aftermath of the tsunami minus the mud. Prayers here for the survivors as they try to rebuild.
OMG! I just watched another video of this tornado, sent to me by my son. It is absolutely terrifying. Trials sent by Nature (and G-d) outshadow and overpower almost anything man-made.
My thoughts and prayers are with all the people in the area. The death toll is shocking; it's even making the headlines out here in the Middle East.
Tornadoes are very terrifying ... speaking as some one who has survived two direct hits by them. I do not wish to test the 3rd time is a charm theory. I have no idea of just how I escaped the two I've been under. They are very fast and whatever reactions you have are muscle memory and instinct mostly. One of the biggest shocks to me when I emerged from the two I experienced was how much devastation was all round and yet I was still standing?
Trust me, the survivors down south have my sympathy, and the dead my deepest regrets.
My thoughts are with the people in the area.

ReplyDeletethoughts and prayers. I still remember when Greensburg KS was wiped off the map awhile back.
