The World Cup of Football (soccer to you) begins on 11 June in South Africa and concludes one month later on 11 July.
Suprisingly (or not) Canada didn't qualify but the USA did! Obviously, the US team learned all they know from England.
The England squad are in the same group (C) as the USA, Algeria, and Slovenia. I'm picking England and Slovenia to leave the USA and Algeria in their dust.
Brazil will win the cup (sorry Mauro).
The last time England won was 1966
44 years and counting....
"England are the world champions." Funny how toe countries can speak the same language and say things differently.
ReplyDeleteIf the rule in soccer as it is in hockey, and the ball (or puck) has to completely cross the line for it to count as a score, the I don't think that one should have counted. But when the Germans left the pitch allowing England to score one more, then I guess it was a moot point.
Soccer? Pfft. :)]
ReplyDeleteIn REAL football news: the Packers rock, and the Vikings suck. Period.
Kick the ball, dammit! YEAAHAHH!!!!
:D
