Cricket!

It's almost Spring and an Englishman's thoughts turn to cricket. I've never been much of a fan myself, but my late Kiwi brother in law, his English son (my nephew), and my male cousins are avid fans.

When Matt and I were in England last year my cousin, David, took us to Hambledon where we wondered onto the Broadhalfpenny (pronounced Broadheypenny) Down. We also had a drink at the Bat and Ball Inn which is directly opposite the Down.

It is hard to imagine a more idylic setting for a competitive sport.

  1. Unfortunately the only "pictures" we have of the cricket pitch and the Downs are on our video camera. For reasons beyond my comprehension our digital wasn't working at the time...

  2. The day before we went to Hambleton, my cousin gave us a guided tour of old Portsmouth where Matt enjoyed his first British pint!

  4. Hey, where is everybody?

Did Pelosi's promise to RAM this bill through scare everyone off?

The pics Drudge have been posting of her lately are scary enough. Just sayin'.
