Dear Friends -
After long thought, and looking back at the thousands of words written and read since the blogging world exploded in the early 2000s, I have reluctantly come to the conclusion that online engagement is a very poor substitute for real world engagement.
Accordingly, I have decided to dramatically lower the amount of time I spend on the Internet, both posting and reading, and have further decided to stop posting and commenting here.
I hope it is not necessary for me to assure anyone here that this is nothing personal; you have all been very good comrades and friends, and I wish you all the very best in the future.
Thank you for your time in reading and thinking about what I have had to say. It's time for me to go off-line for a bit, perhaps for good.
Best to all, and go Canucks,
KevinV (Jourdan)

I am very sorry to hear that, but I understand it. It can wear one down at times. It takes conscious effort to ignore or by-pass the flame throwing and that also diminished my participation on several locations. No time for that. I want interaction with people who know things, for real, that I don't or might not know. For me the Internet and its blogs are way to expand the horizon I view, so I will miss your very cogent and substantive posts. That said, I do wish you the very best in your future endeavors and want you to know that you will be missed by many of us, I assure you. You've changed or modified my viewpoint frequently. I will miss that.
ReplyDeletePlease take care. "Aridog" aka Richard Thompson, old coot Irish curmudgeon :-)
Take care Jourdan. Keep your head down and your powder dry!
ReplyDeleteYes, take care and I hope things get better for you soon, Jourdan. I wish you the best.
