Ah, the 80's. When we were all more comfortable in the cold, and less comfortable in our clothes. ;)
There is actually something Elvis - like in Brian's delivery - I wonder what The King would have sounded like with the sensuous pads and plucks of the 80's synths...
I had never heard another version of Jealous Guy except for the original, which I like very much. But it was a good cover, Fay. Yes, he is very cool. I never saw Brian Ferry before although I knew who he was. In 1990 I was talking to a friend's husband at their house about music and he said "here, you'll love this" and handed me Roxy Music's "Avalon" CD. I had never heard of them. But he was right, I loved Avalon and More Than This.
I was just reading about him on Wiki, he certainly has had a, erm...full personal life. I'm glad he's a conservative :-)
Anyhoo, thanks for the videos, both got 2 thumbs up with me.

Well I've never been comfortable out of my clothes, no matter the season or the decade.
DeleteI'm just an old fashioned girl...
Slave to Love triggers a lot of olfactory memories, sadly all too filthy to mention.
ReplyDeleteNone of them lasting more than 9 1/2 weeks I venture to guess.
DeleteWell played.
