Drive Jive
This is not me. Really, it's not. I am the most useless person when it comes to driving in reverse but I honestly could do better than this. Really, I could.
Who? Almost all my neighborhood women who've only been here a couple years or less. Not chauvinistic of me to say that. These women have not had driver's licenses before and have no clue how to park or back up and steer at the same time...plus they ALL have the de rigueur smart phone pasted upside their heads as well. Not to mention that they were taught by their Arab husbands, who drive "by ear" over half the time. 80% of the cars in my neighborhood have more "whiskey bumps" than you'll find in Hazard KY too...the even brand new ones. BMW's are the rage here (some costing more than the houses lived in) and yesterday I saw one BMW 650 2-door (hot rods) less than a week old with the mandatory scrapped passenger side plus a de rigueur smashed head light. Life is good. If you can drive here without scrapes...you're good to good anywhere, even NYC or Seoul. Seoul is really cool...they have two speed cars there...and those speeds are "parked" or "flat out."
In Calgary it's more likely Asian than Arabic women (and this was a female driver as reported in the Calgary news) who are unfamiliar with a car culture such as we grew up with. It is apparently a scientific fact that Asians have a problem with spatial awareness.
Good Lord in heaven. Even that last guy to pull in the lot had to come back out as he couldn't believe his eyes. The worst part is...that person is probably still on the road.
I actually saw someone do that very same thing last year at our local library. The person driving could NOT figure out how to back out. I watched her for probably a good 5 minutes, she made contact with both cars on either side of her. I got worried when she sent her little kids out to direct her and she came close to hitting THEM. I tried to direct her but there was a language barrier.
Once you commit to a 33 point turn, you can't go back, you just have to ride it out. ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL :)
Deletelewy, LMAO!!!
DeleteI'm thinking that drugs must be involved here. SRSLY. Who drives like that?

DeleteSo Jackie Chan can't park either?
DeleteThere was one asian Formula 1 driver last year - Kobayashi - but his team went bust, not sure he has a ride next season.
No "Reverse" gear in an F1 car, so no problem there for him. ;)
