In yet another unconstitutional, unconscienable, un-American step toward tyranny, the VA under 0bama has begun to send letters to veterans, warning them that, at the whim of some faceless bureaucrat, they will soon be declared incompetent to manage their own affairs. Without the benefit of a hearing, unless requested in writing within 30 days of the receipt of the letter.
I mean, 'Guilty until proven innocent' has always been a keystone of our justice system, right?
The letter specifies that part of the results of said declaration will be to strip them of all firearms rights.
This is just another part of a push that began soon after 0bama's first election to characterize so many as potential terrorist actors.
Among those specified (and the ones who get Barry's panties most in a wad) are the vets, who have still the fresh skills and experience to fight, street to street and house-to-house.
I wonder how high a percentage of those who are receiving the letters are those who answered 'no' when asked if they would fire in American citizens? I would be willing to bet that it is a very high number of them.
Bob Owens examined this story last week. Here is his take.
ReplyDeleteJonn Lilyea and TSO have also been looking into this.
I'd seen it before also, linked on Twitter to somewhere. It seemed unbelievable then.
DeleteBut when I saw the same on Investor's Business Daily, today, I took much more notice.
I hope the people you linked here are far more correct then IBD.
There are a number of things to be worried about these days, but this isn't one of them. First, I would note that neither the Unification Church-owned Washington Times nor the how-to-buy-and-sell-stocks-seminar maestro who owns IBD are trustworthy. Both write their stories very carefully so as to be hugely misleading while never going over the line into active falsehood.
ReplyDeleteOn the details of this matter, the letter is not being sent to ALL veterans, but, as is clear if you read the alarmist stories more carefully, only to veterans who have been found to have a serious mental condition. Not just PTSD or something like that, but seriously unable to handle the chores of day-to-day living.
In addition, a legal notice which tells you to ask for hearing IS DUE PROCESS. How anyone could find that a violation of due process is beyond me.
I agree with this Bob Owens person on this one: this is fear-mongering of a type which discredits what should be otherwise very easy to find examples of reasons to oppose USG.
