It's the middle of the night, literally.
All meds are gone, and I woke in pain. I've taken an over-sized dosage of advil, and have been trying to follow Lewy's advice about finding a 'don't give a shit' place inside my soul.
Instead, I found this, from the Weekly Standard, regarding spending levels on poverty programs.
Seems the only thing said programs are accomplishing is the impoverishment of the taxpayer.
Typical reaction, I am sure.

ReplyDeleteThat is the main thrust of the thread. The Mallard Fillmore cartoon was just illustrative of that story.
I read most of it, DWT, but found it so depressing. I can only read so much about what our government is doing, the reckless spending, the waste and thievery. Just makes me more incredulous than ever that more than 50% of the country voted to reelect this incompetent empty suit.
DeleteOT though...I just heard about another psycho with a gun at a Portland mall. I hope lewy, his family and friends are all safe.

ReplyDeleteOn the Oregon shooting, when I think of all the times I've been in that mall with my family....terrible. I about fell off my chair when I turned on the local news and saw a picture of the Clackamas Town Center main entrance.
Fay and I were doing a quick run to the grocery store once. We got to the little mall right after there was a mob hit there. We managed to get in and out before the police shut the place down and did not let anybody leave.
