I'm seriously tempted to send the folks at the Onion a sympathy card.
Somebody should really interview them, I'd love their perspective on this - as people who eat and pay rent on the strength of their sense of the absurd, I'd be really interested in what they have to say.
Other than that - I can't honestly say I'm registering any surprise here.

Amen, brother.
Yes, let's evict them and quit financing the lion's share of this irrelevant organization.
I didn't think they could hit a new low; I was wrong. Next they'll be posthumously awarding Hitler some award.
Seriously, how bad could the repercussions be if we dropped our membership and kicked them out of NY? I used to think it was too critical being on the Security Council but now I'm not so sure.
Oh FFS. There is no "low" that the UN cannot achieve.
ReplyDeleteI'm truly gobsmacked.
Can we pull out and evict them from new York now, please?

The Onion is running stories that seem pretty real - just what part of this story is satire?
ReplyDeleteIt is pretty scary when The Onion and The People's Cube begin to reflect more reality than reality itself.
DeleteI can't help it, I laughed. The absurdity is so profound I could not help myself. There is nothing funny about it, and yet...
