"The 27 Club"



Today another talented, troubled, mixed-up soul died at the age of 27. Amy Winehouse joins a macabre sort of club, its members comprising of self destructing musicians who all died at the age of twenty seven:

Brian Jones in 1969
Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin in 1970
Jim Morrison in 1971
Kurt Cobain 1994

    Actually Dances, Kurt Cobain's mother called it "The Stupid Club"

    Yes, sad but not surprising.

    I was not a fan but rue a talented life snuffed out far too early by self-destruction.

    I looked at the full list of the "27 Club." I noticed that one of the people on it was a member of the group Chase. Chase was a large band, with a Chicago-like sound with a full horn section. The entire band was killed in a plane crash -- but one guy happened to be 27.

    The names Fay listed are what make the "27 Club" seem so eerie -- but, in reality, the list for the 26 Club or the 28 Club and the rest would probably be just as long.
