I like Pearl Jam, but I'm a died in the wool jealous original "The Who" fan. Back in the day as well as now, I am a die hard "King Crimson" and "The Who" fan, not quite hippie, being as, back in the day, the uniform of a soldier didn't play that way.
We liked hard driving bass and hypnotic drums, violent music for a violent world....and we often played the anti-war tunes as ballads of honor. Hard to understand I know. I met Country Joe several times in the 80's and 90's and I really liked him ... and , of course, every soldier fell in love with Grace Slick.
By reference, thanks for the walk down memory lane.

Ari - I am also a big King Crimson fan, and know few others who have a clue who they are.
ReplyDeleteAlso a Who fan, but nonetheless am impressed by this.
I'm more impressed with the Canucks.
ReplyDeleteNo, really, we have more than the fortune teller on our side :)
Ari, thanks for posting the King Crimson clip.
ReplyDeleteKinda prophetic, eh?
I didn't get into KC until I was in college and Discipline and subsequent albums with Adrien Belew were the big thing.
This clip should f**k with yer head on many levels...
