My grandfather was a Republican in state legislature in PA in the '60's; he collected elephants (and was given more!). He had mostly figurines, from tiny to a large brass one that must have weighed 20 pounds. I have no idea how many he had. When their house was being cleaned out, I made sure I got one for each of the kids. Wish I'd have thought to count them all as a kid!

ReplyDeleteAs a kid, you just think it's funny. And then the first time I saw it as an adult, I found it way freaky trippy; "champagne" my eye!
What brought that up was that I built some shelves for my sister yesterday, to display some of her collected elephants.
ReplyDeleteIncluding stuffed, jewelry, etc, she has over 600.
