The Department of Education, Inspector Generals office in Chicago, is soliciting bids for 27 short-barreled Remington pump shotguns.
These are excellent weapons for close-quarters combat in an urban setting, but can anyone think of a reason why the DoE would need them?
The more I look at this, the less I understand it. I very much doubt that these will be in the hands of school administrators for defensive use in a Columbine type incident.
ReplyDeleteAre the feds actually becoming so paranoid that they expect to be attacked by radical right-wing school choicers?
Or maybe they think to have education types putting down armed insurrections in the streets of Chicago?
Good morning, DWT! Your link took me to the generic homepage.
ReplyDeleteIt makes no sense for the Dept. of Education to be soliciting bids for shotguns. Short-barreled shotguns are for close range, multiple-target kills; are they anticipating school administrators needing this type of weaponry? What are the ROEs associated with these weapons? Who, EXACTLY, will be issued such firepower around our kids?
I don't know why it did that, Lady Red, except perhaps a general lack of skill on my part.
ReplyDeleteI just tried to edit the post, and that did not work, either.
The link to that particular item is this:

Cut the whole department; that would be a vast improvement.
