Shocker In Floranista-Land

This is truly jaw-dropping:

Effective April 16, Walgreens drugstores across the state won't take any new Medicaid patients, saying that filling their prescriptions is a money-losing proposition — the latest development in an ongoing dispute over Medicaid reimbursement.
The company, which operates 121 stores in the state, will continue filling Medicaid prescriptions for current patients.
In a news release, Walgreens said its decision to not take new Medicaid patients stemmed from a "continued reduction in reimbursement" under the state's Medicaid program, which reimburses it at less than the break-even point for 95 percent of brand-name medications dispensed to Medicaid patents.
Walgreens follows Bartell Drugs, which stopped taking new Medicaid patients last month at all 57 of its stores in Washington, though it still fills Medicaid prescriptions for existing customers at all but 15 of those stores.

Wow.  Just wow.  The dominoes are falling.  Tink tink tink.

Questions of the day:  Will Congress jump in and deem prescriptions a "right" rather than a good to be purchased?  Will Obama & Company nationalize pharmacies to insure that medicaid recipients aren't "discriminated" against by evil, for-profit companies like Walgreens?   Hmmm....

Oh, my, heavens no...they will mandate eligibilty criteria and requiste categories 1 thru 8 just like VA Health Care....hey, they've got the "template", right?

Now if you are crack whore with 6 illegitimate children, plus one in the oven, all with different last names (if known at all), and all infected with the HIV virus,..well, then you are category 1....you get the meds free plus a $50 stipend to cover your trip to the pharmacy.

If you are an ex-con on parole for the 3rd time in 12 years, a member of Recidivists r' Us, with warrants outstanding and one case pending pre-trial, with more offspring than you can count, well, then you are category 2 and you get your meds for free.

Now if you are working married couple with 3-4 kids, living in a small home you are purchasing, you, mother fuckers, are category 8 and can damn well pay for your meds after you make an appointment to buy them and act humble enough when the prescriptions are dispensed.

    Otherwise, no medications for you!!

  2. Recidivists r' Us

    tee hee

Sadly, however, I think you are right. Pathetic, isn't it? Screw personal responsibility, nanny state will take care of us. Cuz they know best!

And I see BO has now cancelled his Asia trip althogether in order to strong-arm opponents to his health care plan. I wish he took our economic crisis this seriously, Tom just had to lay off 3 workers indefinitely...

  3. IIRC appx 49% of doctors polled said they would leave medicine if the the govt health care takeover goes through, but people still say the service will be fine. Pharmacies that won't doll out govt drugs? Well now how is THAT gonna work?

Aww...nanny doesn't want to take care of us. Nanny is buggin because Medicaire went bankrupt last year and she doesn't want to admit it (because she is always the one who steals the incoming funds).
Nanny also swiped Social Security funds, so it will go bankrupt this year too.
    Nanny has been very busy.
p.s. she would like a sample of your DNA for her files. Just for...uhh....just for making sure you are safe! Yeah! That's it!

  5. Lol, yeah, that too, monkeyweather. I've also heard that docs will retire although the numbers I heard about were around 30%, IIRC. No matter, with many leaving practice, who is going to be around to take care of the new influx of patients?

I almost had a conniption when I turned on the tv this am and there is BO and Pelosi, etal, signing a bill. Then they announced it was that jobs bill, whew...

(Although that's probably loaded with pork and other waste of our tax dollars.)

  6. The Messiah and his disciples, err, controllers, have no interest in helping us. They want to control us. That us why they have done what they can to convince a lot of people they will never have anything if the government does not give it to them. This way, those people will willingly submit to whatever the government wants.

It is those annoying people -- the intelligent ones, who have a grasp as to why the country was founded and the concept of the Constitution -- that are in the way and need to be dealt with.

All these people who complain about the current system -- I hope they realize that they will get even less when the government runs it.
