A Southern California letter carrier who is a registered sex offender has been reassigned after concerns were raised that he was delivering mail in an area with many children.
Postal Service spokeswoman Eva Jackson said Wednesday that Dana Kennette is now in a job that does not deal with the public. Kennette had been delivering mail in the Rancho Bernardo area of San Diego, where he lives.
The Megan's Law Web site says he was convicted of lewd or lascivious acts on a child under 14. There is no telephone listing for Kennette.
Concern is high in the San Diego area after a sex offender was charged last week with murdering 17-year-old Chelsea King. Police are also investigating the death of 14-year-old Amber Dubois of nearby Escondido, whose remains were found over the weekend.
How the hell did this guy get a job with our federal government? Why hasn't he been fired? Why isn't he rotting away in jail? Grrr....
How did he get a job with the federal govt?
ReplyDeleteWell, they take care of their own, see?
:O&
Monkeyweather....
ReplyDeleteProbably because the USPS, although a government department, is an independant agency, operating privately for all extents and purposes, without direct taxpayer support.
As for how this guy kept his job? Same way Major Hasan kept his until too late. Unfortunately, in government, and large private sector organizations, however independent they might be, the tendancy is to move "trouble" off the table, not out of the room....but to some one else's table none the less. They really wish he'd just go away, but short of that it's just move 'em out from A to B.
It's really not much different than Barney Frank remaining in Congress because, due to his influential Congressional status, he was absolved of gay whore mongering out of his own apartment...blaming it all on his "roommate" who activites he says he had no knowledge of, yada yada.
This is the founding concept for the "Peter Principle" which holds promotion goes on until the level of incompetenacy is reached....or disaster strikes.
In the case of Congress, it appears we have developed a catch bin for self serving "Peter Principle" examples.
