CNN is reporting that we are only 11 votes short of defeating the monstrous health care bill. House switchboards are swamped...
"We believe House passage of the Senate's health care bill will ultimately be decided by the 37 remaining House Democrats who voted NO to a government takeover last November, and the ... 21 House Democrats who originally voted YES, but may now be on the fence," they wrote.
Here's a contact list for the House. Don't stop at your own district; contact as many from your state as you can, especially the fence-sitters.
This is a list of the undecideds.
I just fired off yet another email to my Congressdude:
ReplyDelete----
Dear Sir,
The vote on the health care bill is drawing near. We do not want this monstrosity to pass.
Please shout from the rooftops. Yell, scream, and stomp your feet. IT'S THAT IMPORTANT. You are too quiet. There is a time for quiet dignity, and there is a time to BE HEARD. I'd like to see you on the news, raising a conniption fit.
We elected you to represent us. We're hollering as loud as we can! Please give us a voice in Washington. A LOUD VOICE.
Thank you for your service, and for listening.

My guy is a conservative republican, and eyeing Blanche Lincoln's senate seat. His passivity is getting on everyone's nerves.
Adam Smith (from WA) is one of the idiotic "undecideds" but we all know he will vote yes. It's going to be the Stupak people that will make or break this bill.
ReplyDeleteI predicted Kucinich's vote (and text of his speech, lol!) last night after he was pimped on AF1.
Great letter, lady red, and thanks for posting this link.
ReplyDeleteFlorrie, I was shocked (SHOCKED I tell you!) when Kucinich changed his vote.
ReplyDelete/need I?
Pictures of Kucinich with his wife make me seriously ill.
ReplyDeleteSame here, afw. What do you think she went for, his studly body or good looks?
ReplyDeleteOh wait...
Well, at least now everyone knows his price. Plus he actually got some attention at his press conference.
I can't wait for the elections, boot them all out and start over with a new batch in both parties. If I hear one more person blather their memorized talking points I'm going to scream. I think people had HAD it with this BS and are looking for some straight talk and integrity - WHEREVER it may come from.
florrie - SRSLY.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I understand the women who go after Donald Trump. Aside from his money, as ridiculous as his hair cut is he is a powerful, masculine guy.
Not my type. But I can understand it. You know?
Dennis Kucinich, on the other hand... I will never understand it. And they don't look comfortable together, either. Whenever some magazine takes pictures of them being all lovey-dovey (BARF!), it looks so uncomfortable.
This discussion is really helping my diet, btw.

ReplyDeleteYou know, projectile vomiting isn't becoming. Right?
Whenever some magazine takes pictures of them being all lovey-dovey (BARF!), it looks so uncomfortable.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have the same shuddering reaction...kind of like when Michael Jackson deep kissed Lisa Presley at some awards show. Ick. Very unappetizing.

Or Al & Tipper. Double Ick.

Both women looked soooo surprised...
I'm as bad as AFW! I keep hovering over the emoticons...dammit!
ReplyDeleteLEWY!!!! ;)
