Please don't take this the wrong way, because I love Fay, but it kind of gives me the willies when I see a kid singing like Beverly Sills. However, if I don't look at her, it sounds incredible! She is indeed very talented, lord knows I can't carry a tune.
We got our tree today and have had fun decorating tonight. It's my "Belleek" tree, all the decorations are from the Irish Parian china company.
Your tree is really beautiful Florrie. Our son and DIL still have the beautiful Belleek vase you sent them for their wedding. And its' even put to good use when our son remembers to buy his wife some flowers! :))
Lewy, LOL! If we had a tree I can assure you our cat would be looking at it exactly the same way! As it is, our cat attacked our Menorahs on Hannukah. She knocked one over, luckily just as the flames went out. (We use olive oil not candles). The evidence was all over her - she had olive oil dripping off her whiskers! :))
Yes, the face of a young child with the voice of a grown woman is preternatural to the point of disquiet... but it works for me because I think of Silent Night as a children's song...
She looks just like one of my little classmates in grade school (except with TV makeup.)
Jackie Evancho has an incredible voice, and I also admit to some unease when realising she's such a young girl with such a grown-up voice. I can't help thinking of Charlotte Church who was also a choir-girl with an amazing voice who seems to have rather screwed up her private life since she became a star, and hope that Jackie doesn't end up like her. Early stardom is generally not good for people.
I hope she has a long career and a happy life.
ReplyDeleteI can't reconcile that voice emanating from a tiny slip of a girl. Does she have perfect pitch or what? Wow. Just wow.

ReplyDeleteHeh, perfect graphic, lewy. Or should I say "purrfect"?
ReplyDelete(I know, I know...G-R-O-A-N)
We have a cat too but so far he hasn't messed around with the tree too much.
Thanks, annie, I'm glad they like it!
