Happy 50th Hollies!

The music of the sixties is a major part of the soundtrack of my life. Included in that soundtrack were more than a few hits by The Hollies who, this year, celebrate their "Golden" anniversary. Thank you lads.

  2. Aaaand another two hours spent poking about YouTube listening to the oldies. Thanks Fay!

No really, thanks, this beats reading the news. I needed the break.

I found some covers of "Air that I Breathe"; I think I like the k.d. lang cover the best.

Interestingly I also found that Radiohead was sued over its breakout hit Creep due to similar cord progressions. If you haven't heard Creep... don't bother, you won't like it.

  3. The piano player on "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" was some guy name Reginald Dwight.

I really like "I Can't Let Go" by the Hollies, too.

BTW, you do know the Beatles "Please Please Me" album was recorded fifty years ago this past February.

    Way before MY time.
