I'm Not Paranoid- They Really ARE Out to Get Me!

Just to go along with the (still reported but unconfirmed, I guess) 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition, and the 7,000 (useless for personal defense according to gun expert Joe B) AR-15 type rifles they've ordered, There are now approximately 2,700 'light-armored' vehicles roaming the streets of 'America'.

Here is "what we use to deliver our team to 'high-risk warrant' services."

Wow!  I sure know that makes ME feel secure!

I wonder if W knew it would come to this?  I fear that he did.

  1. Gee, what will DHS do with all of those? I have little doubt that the goobermint is preparing for massive civil unrest.

I wonder what kind of offensive weaponry is standard with these vehicles? Does anyone know?

  2. The increasing militarization of the police and arms of the Federal Government is grounds of great concern. Not just for the obvious reasons, but also for cultural ones. A free people cannot exist alongside a paramilitary police force. Not for long anyway.

    1. Yes, it is...though DHS didn't outright purchase the bullets, YET...they established a supply chain taking full advantage of Just-In-Time (JIT) inventory management. That is what RFP's do. When they actually do issue an IDIQ order and place releases against it, you/we will never hear of it. Made to look like fools in the first go round, as intended, no one will pursue the culmination of the effort.

I am more concerned now about 2016 and what happens, or doesn't happen, on 20 Jan 2017.

  3. One comment to correct a misinterpretation...one that was designed to be misinterpreted so that the opposition could mock you. And many folks fell for it, hook, line and sinker.

There has been NO 1.6 billion bullet purchase by DHS. Yet. What they did was issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for 1.6 billion total rounds of various types...for a potential indefinite delivery & indefinite quantity (IDIQ) order (could cover multiple years), IF one is issued issued subsequently. An RFP is NOT an order. It CAN BE precursor to a contract. IDIQ or lot.

However, "subsequently" is not covered. Yet. You/we don't know and deniability is plausible. And if it is, it should be available on line through FEDBIZOPPS dot gov ... classification code [aka Federal Stock Class ... aka FSC] would be "13" for ammunition. However, it might be subordinate to an order, IDIQ or otherwise, with a different FSC. And remember if IDIQ it is still not an order per se...not until a release order is made against the IDIQ items.

It can be complex. It's shit I dealt with from 1969 until 2005 officially, until 2010 unofficially. Still gives me headaches. One minor item frequently ignored by requisitioners, by "bundling" techniques, for deniability...e.g. "who me?"...is the simple fact that any expenditure over $700,000 or $750,000 IIRC requires a line item in a Congrerssional Appropriation.

Oh, wait...scratch that...we no longer "categorically appropriate" because we no longer budget...and what "court" would oversee compliance anyway? Whoopsie!

Happy hunting in the jungle of FedBizOpps.

This is what we used to call a BOHICA moment

PS: Man...an "edit" feature would be nice :(
