This is one of my favorite videos; it always makes me smile, especially the last minute or two.
This is Noah's favorite group...he's a Fogerty fan from WAY back!
I admit it; I had this 8-track when I was a teenager. I also had a tape deck that looked like a space helmet...with AM and FM!
8 Track. Is that anything like a crystal set?
ReplyDeleteWho needs a crystal set? My tooth fillings picked up radio stations back in those days (usually the fuddy-duddy ones). :))
ReplyDeleteWoot, a Genesis post. I'll re-tell my family and personal history of Genesis (Phil Collins and Mike Rutherford). Plus, how I met Squeeze, and later Mike and the Mechanics singer, Paul Carrick.
ReplyDeleteStay tuned.
My sister married the divorced father of three children. His eldest daughter worked as a Nanny for Mike Rutherford and his wife. The daughter ended up marrying the Genesis road manager. The wedding was hosted by my sister and her husband (the brides father). When Phil Collins showed up, unshaven, and without a neck tie, my BIL escorted him upstairs to the bathroom for a shave and a tie!
ReplyDeleteAfter the marriage, I got free tickets and backstage passes for me and my friends anytime Genesis, or Phil, or Mike were in town.
ReplyDeleteWe went backstage once when Genesis were in Vancouver but I was too shy to go up and talk to any of them.
And after all of that, Fay married me!
ReplyDeleteAt Expo 86 we got tickets for Mike and the Mechanics with Paul Carrack. Heaven!
ReplyDeleteI did take the opportunity that time to go backstage and actually meet, and talk to, Mike Rutherford and Paul Carrack.
Fay, I'm always delighted to hear those stories! I've never met anyone "cool" like that. You were very brave to go backstage!
ReplyDeleteI did meet Whitey Ford when I worked on the COMEX. I was one of the few who actually knew who he was! I grinned for days. :)
Fay, I'm always delighted to hear those stories! I've never met anyone "cool" like that.
ReplyDeleteWhat, the people at the Table are chopped liver? ;)
Radio Matt said:
ReplyDeleteWhat, the people at the Table are chopped liver? ;)
To which I must respond - 'Yum, chopped liver'.
And now, off-topic.
ReplyDeleteI finally, after months and months of blandishment from Microsoft, 'up'graded to IE 9.
Anyone have any idea how, other than complete wiping of my hard drive, I can go back?
Because in typical Microsoft style, THIS SUCKS!!!!!!!
I loathe IE. I'm a firefox gal, and lovin' every minute of it.
ReplyDeleteI just asked Noah and he said you can uninstall IE 9 from your control panel. Then, go to "Windows" in the top left corner of your control panel and click it. When it populates, select Internet Explorer, close it, and restart your computer. This will give you the original IE your computer started with. Or, he said you can download IE8 from the internet. (hope I got all that right!)
I love these kinds of stories. :)
ReplyDeleteLady Red - we have Firefox at work.
ReplyDeleteIt sucks too.
Stupid changes to what has become (and should remain) the norm.
I cannot remember who said it, but I agree - 'All change is for the worse'.
I think the internet was better in the Netscape days.
ReplyDeleteBut then I think Genesis was better in the Peter Gabriel days, so... :|
I do most of my surfing on my Mac, so I am on Safari.
