Barry To Be Primaried

Of course, instead of the once-plentiful moderate Democrats (remember them?) who actually still loved their country, it is Ralph Nader, and other 'progressive' loons who are making the threats.

Hey, nothing I would like better than to see the lefty vote split between dumb & dumber, of course, it would be nearly impossible to identify which was who.

  1. Good ol' Ralphie went off the deep end years ago. Heck, he's even singing Sarah's praises these days...go figure.

I'd love to see Obama primaried. I wonder if Hillary still has the political "machine" that she and Slick Willy built years ago; if so, she'll be a formidable foe, not just to Obama, but to the Repub nominee as well.

If Hillary wins the presidency, there will be people peeing down both legs in abject fear. She was stabbed in the back (repeatedly and gleefully) during the last campaign, and I have a feeling she has a loooong memory.

Not that I want her in the WH (noooo!), but if she does get there, I'm making popcorn.

  2. In my opinion, Hillary is an overdone fritter. Which, of course, given the JEM's success, does not mean she is unelectable.

I'm hoping, most, that individuals/voters, sincerely look at their votes.

Though, again, that will depend on public teat, versus living on your own.

    That is a great gulf.

  3. Hillary is someone whom is recognizably American. Her idea of the American interest is not identical to mine (and that's being cordial), but I consider that she at least _has_ a sincere notion of the American interest.

Her patriotism may not entirely be without an asterix or two, but it is without lengthy footnotes and apologia. She is neither without some integrity, nor without considerable issues and baggage.

But all things being equal - shucks, I think I'd like to see her run a primary campaign.

But, as is the case approximately, well, always, what I think matters not one whit.

On a realpolitik level within the Democratic party, I think a Hillary 2.0 candidacy would be problematic in the extreme.

She could succeed only by ripping the Democratic party in half, and so any primary victory would be a pyrrhic - she'd have a hard time rallying Obama's crew for the general.

Ditto if her primary bid fails; she becomes the scapegoat for O's eventual loss in the general. It's lose-lose. Hillary is good with this kind of reasoning.

I don't expect her to run. As lady red correctly recalls, the enmity runs too deep.
