Yep, You Guessed It...

...Obama is about to address the nation.  The DJIA is already down south of 330 points; it seems like every time Obama opens his mouth, the market tanks further.  Why oh why does he do this?

  1. He's late. Shocka!

Probably Bush's fault. Or that evil Tea Party.

  2. King Teleprompter is addressing his subjects.

We will always be a AAA country.

I'll say this much for Bush, at least he didn't feel he had to get his mug on the tv twice a week to lecture us.

  3. Oh, thank gawd, he's leaving.

Woohoo, Megyn Kelly is back!!! I love her, I was sorry she missed Weinergate!!

  4. So predictable. Damn that evil Tea Party!

The minute he started flapping his jaws the Dow crashed through the 11,000 floor.

  5. The JEM is saying the "prolonged debate where the threat of default could do damage to the world" is responsible for the downgrade.

He is a truly despicable individual when he is still playing politics at this point. Axelrod was testing the waters yesterday with HIS comments. Does anyone even believe this shit? For shame.

    We're fucked.

Sorry for the harsh language but that's how I feel as I watch our 401K go down the drain.

Thanks, you incompetent joke of a president.

  8. lady red, shortly before she went on maternity leave they had a flame war on her show. She certainly held her own with him, I assume that made her ineligible to receive any weiner pictures.

  9. Yes, we're well and truly fucked. There's no other word for it.

The Dow is now down 500. Thanks Obama. Allot.

  10. Your comment ^^^ did make me smile though.

Gawd knows we can use some comic relief...

  11. Well, today was the 6th largest drop in Dow Jones history, but don't worry. The Bernank will fire up ye olde printing presses, and everything will be fine tomorrow.

  12. Speaking of Megan Kelly, she mentioned in passing today that S&P was NOT the first to downgrade US debt. It was a much smaller rating house two weeks ago. I'm sorry I didn't write down the name ... can't find it on Google yet.

In other words, the implication was already quite present last month. Hello?

Oh, yes, I watch Megan Kelly. For the intellectual content you know. And that trim white dress today ... :D I am just waiting for some dolt to comment on her trim figure now, so she can tear him or her a new asshole.

  13. I was going to post a very similar sentiment last night, florrie & lady red. It's certainly hard to feel optimistic at all. I've been trying for nearly the last two years to get a new job so I can leave the horribly craptacular job I've been stuck in. There just isn't much out there, and the few times I've managed to get my foot in the door, there have been dozens of other feet there too.

Now... the economy is just so bad that I'm reluctant to take a chance at something new. Then again, I should just be happy to have a job at all.

  14. Hang in there, Alphie. I'm sorry you're still in that situation; it's a reminder for me to be grateful that Tom has a job he likes and that it's busy right now - therefore relatively secure.

Plus, it's just the two of us. I know you and Mrs. Alphie have the boys to worry about, that sure reduces the options you have as far as work decisions go. Dang.

  15. Yeah, we're a bit short on options, but at least we both have jobs. Jobs we both hate, but jobs at least. We could probably squeak by on just one of our salaries... if we knew things were going to turn around. But things aren't turning around.

I'm glad to hear that Tom has a job he likes. And he gets a muffin in his lunchbox.

  16. You have to check out this on Big Journalism.

I hope, I pray that this is the storm is the end of the nonsense. Good people everywhere (thinking of England as well) let this happen by trying to accommodate others. I think that is about to end. I see a time where you either do everything you can to take care of yourself and to improve society or you can go fuck yourself. People will refuse to be portrayed as the bad guys by the people they support.

  17. BTW, Tom also has a sweetie at home. :)

  18. Alphie, I'm glad that your and your wife are working, and I hope things will be looking up soon. This recession has been brutal on young families like yours. It's very depressing and sad.

  19. Half a million results for "Obama blames...".

It's like that soundbyte that Beck had for Gibbs when he left his press secy position - unending streams of "well, I'm not an economist, I'm not a mathematician, I'm not an expert on China, I'm not a member of Congress, I'm not - well, you get the idea.

And thank you for those nice words.

  20. Good find Matt. Obama blames...everyone but himself. It makes me crazy!

Yes, Tom does have a sweetie at home, and so do you! :)

  21. Oh yeah, I sure do! All the married old farts here are really lucky.

As for Obama, why not an update of "The Truman Show?" Obama could be on all of the time.

Wait, that sounds like 1984, doesn't it?

Smooches to all you wonderful folks!
