You awake in a liquid-filled tube, a breathing device clamped to your mouth. There are other men around you in similar tubes. You manage to engage the mechanism to release yourself, and to your horror you discover the others are all long dead. You emerge into the hallway only to find the next room a mortuary, which bodies on slabs. A haggard old woman, with milky-white eyes staring blankly at the ceiling is in the middle. Except....she's not dead.
"Awaken."
―Kreia, telepathically, to Jedi Exile in the Peragus Mining Facility
You are adrift in a space mining facility. The old blind woman, Kreia, is your fellow survivor. Except, all is not as it seems. As your journey unfolds, you discover that at some point in your life you were one of the famous Jedi, a servant of the Force, a powerful warrior-philospher. Except, now, you can't feel this Force or even come to any remote understanding of what it is.
Kreia has something to do with your situation, that much is certain. Yet, she no more controls the Force than you. After escaping the dead mining station, you arrive at a remote planet, where you help a young family in need upon arrival. You turn to Kreia with a smile on your face having helped them.
"And what is it you think you have accomplished? If you seek to aid everyone that suffers in the galaxy, you will only weaken yourself … and weaken them. It is the internal struggles, when fought and won on their own, that yield the strongest rewards. You stole that struggle from them, cheapened it. If you care for others, then dispense with pity and sacrifice and recognize the value in letting them fight their own battles. And when they triumph, they will be even stronger for the victory."
―Kreia to Jedi Exile
And so, convention is turned on its head.
You learn, you strive, you continue, feeling all the time as if you are being taught.
"Yes, always. From the moment you awoke, I have used you. I have used you so that you might become strong, stronger than I. I used you to keep the Lords of the Sith from condemning the galaxy to death with their power unchecked. I used you to lure them to Telos, where they could be, at last, fought and killed. I used you to reveal Atris' corruption, so that her teachings could be ended before they began. I used you to gather the Jedi so they could be destroyed. And I used you to make those who wounded me reveal themselves, so they could be killed by the Republic."
Darth Traya, she is who is Kreia.
Is this from a star wars video game, Jourdan?
ReplyDeleteMy better half is the gamer in our house, I just play point and click games (zuma) and zorkie's games, which tell a story and in which you have to solve puzzles.
