Comment of the Day

I considered crafting a sober and evenhanded review of George Soros' latest OpEd in the Financial Times, but I could not best the insight expressed by this commenter:

Well, Soros's article is just a ten dollar way of saying that the Euro elite adopted the boil a frog slowly approach to the eradication of national identity. Fortunately the pot got kicked over when the burner blew up and before the frog expired. Now there is hot water all over the place and an angry frog.

Government deficits being racked up all over the world - among them the EU's democracy deficit, which is equally serious.

  1. /polite golf clap to that commenter. As neat an analysis as I have ever read.

I'm enjoying greatly reading of Nigel Farage (UKIP MEP) savaging his EU "Parliament" "colleagues"- he is utterly brutal when dealing with the venal, unctuous Herbert van Rompuy! Any chap that walked away from a plane crash won't have much trouble with an enervated, pompous "Belgian". Heh.
