Wow, Galbraith was one scary dude. He might be back in fashion with the Obama/elitist crowd, but I don't think anyone in my neighborhood will be purchasing his books.
It confuses me why people who are not a part of the "educated/elite" crowd cling to their coattails. Do they fancy themselves on par with these people, and above the masses? Don't they know that these elitists will throw them under the bus at the first available opportunity?
"Galbraith has come back into fashion: not only his ideas, which imply the need for a huge and expanding class of redemptory politicians and bureaucrats to save people from a fate that would be wretched without them, but his aristocratic assumption of unchallengeable moral superiority, written in his prose as it appears to be written on President Obama’s face. How delightful to be so generous, so very right all the time, and yet make a fortune and stay at the Ritz!"
Yay, it worked! I'm learning, albeit slowly, how to do this.
ReplyDeleteWoo-hoo! :))
