What the heck? Was it the weapon of choice that determined the sentence? I don't understand this at all.

Fat Woman Pleads Guilty To Killing Her Kids' Father By Sitting On Him...Receives Probation.

It's likely all over the place by now, but an earlier story at the same link.

Air America, the talk-radio network that helped boost the careers of liberals Al Franken and Rachel Maddow, said Thursday it was going out of business.

Because I'm a nice guy... I almost feel sorry for the folks who work at Air America. But nah... they are just a bunch of lying liars for the most part. Talk radio is practically the only outlet for conservative views other than the internet, doesn't bother me that the competition can't gain support.

Lady Red, take a look around that site; It is witty, caustic, and a little low class at times, if I had one I would place it on my sidebar.

  4. I am surprised that Air America held on for so long. I think its biggest problem was its business model. If, say, they wanted to give Al Franken a show and market it, and he found an audience and could sustain it, then they could have expanded from their.

The conservative shows are marketed as individual programs. While maybe some have the same syndicator, those syndicators have other kinds of shows. If the show sells, they keep it. If the show doesn't sell, they don't keep it.

Air America set out to give 24 hours a day of liberal talk. I don't think there are that many liberal talkers out there to maintain a 24/7 schedule. It took many years for conservative talk to built up a large pool of talent.

It may have been a good thing if they did a better job, but I am not disappointed they are gone.

  5. W-T-H? 3 yrs probation and 100 hrs community service for "involuntary" manslaughter? How exactly was it "involuntary"? Is this story from the Onion???

As far as Air America, as solus would say: schadenfreude ensues :-)
