Massachusetts, All Eyes Are Upon You!

The nation will be glued to their televisions tonight as Massachusetts chooses their next senator.  This is arguably the most critical election of our lifetime.  In 1775, the patriots of Massachusetts fought a pitched battle at North Bridge, driving back three companies of the King's troops.  Will they once again defeat the King's troops, and throw off the yoke of tyranny and corruption?

  1. Heh! My flowery language should be good for a few exploding heads! Spank me...I'm bad...:)

  2. LOL, good morning lady red. Off to work shortly (poor me!). Have a great day and I'll see you tonight.

  3. I mentioned on another comment that a woman calling on business from Mass told me to postpone a meeting because she was going to be "drinking at Scott Brown's victory party on Tuesday".

I'm from Mass. I've never heard people blathering to strangers that they're going to go vote for Republicans. It's Just Not Done. Something has clearly happened. We'll see.

  4. Good morning Fay and Lewy! I'm not sure the good people of Massachusetts are voting FOR a Republican as much as they're voting AGAINST the path Obama & Company have set for the nation.

People don't like having legislation shoved down their throats. They don't like having their faces rubbed in unapologetic corruption. They don't like bald-faced lies, and they're sick of political elitism.

We're Americans, first and foremost. We may choose to be Democrats, Republicans, or Independents, but one underlying principle binds us together: Don't Tread On Me.

  5. I have a hard time believing that a Republican is going to win the seat vacated by Ted Kennedy with health care the central issue. It's unimagineable. It's unbelievable.

I'm not a fan of the Republican Party, but, DAMN, this win would effectively mean the end of the Obama Administration as we have known it. It would demonstrate widespread opposition to the President and his Congress' program, and would send Dems scurrying to the hills to cover their behinds.

Wow, I mean, wow. The only thing that could make this better would be a little more cowbell.

  6. Jourdan, lmao!!

Good morning, everyone. Wow, I'm very excited too. I hope this will capture the attention of the moderate dems.

  7. I'm still in the "Seriously?" phase of the Mass election.

If I were on Cheezburger, I'd have a very perplexed look on my cat-face.

I mean, even more perplexed than the face I would make when confronted with the nitty gritty of string theory.

    THAT perplexed.

  8. "the face I would make when confronted with the nitty gritty of string theory."

Haha... good one, AFW. Me, too.

Yep, this is an exciting day, no doubt about it. I may even have to watch TV tonight so I can see all the long faces on the member of the media and their pundit cohorts.

  9. lol, that's pretty perplexing, afw!

I actually have the boob tube on right now, this is exciting, like Luther said.

Yes, I remember the face of Terry McAuliffe (sp?) after the 2002 midterms. It was priceless.

  10. Another wasted weekend. I had planned on completing my move to my sister's home. I got things ready there on Sunday, then woke vomitting very early Monday.

I still tried, but chills, fever, and dizziness prevented my doing more than take a few boxes to my car yesterday morning.

I finally went to bed about 2 pm, and more-or-less stayed there until almost 9, this morning.

Then continuing dizziness, etc, kept me from doing much today, either. A few more boxes packed, and my bookshelves cleared, but not moved.

I've spent less time moving across country than across this town.

  11. And sorry, i know that was off-topic, but just now nothing is particularly exciting, except perhaps keeping down a meal.

  12. Do you think you might have the flu? Are you coughing? I'm so sorry that you're not feeling well. :(

    Get lots of rest, and remember to drink fluids. {{Sidd}}

Where's annie? We need some some of her magic chicken soup!

  13. Oh no! It does sound like the flu. I'll echo what lady red said, hope you feel much better tomorrow. These things always seem to happen when we have lots of "have-tos" that we can't ignore.

Yes, annie's soup would be in order!

Take care and don't overdo, that would make it worse.

  14. I really have not been able to overdo. As soon as I start to move around a lot, crouching down, picking up, etc, I get dizzy all over again.

But I might make my own chicken, rice & leek soup, any way. As long as I can avoid coughing into it.

  15. The first numbers are coming in...with 18% reporting...Brown 52...Coakley 47...

    Stay tuned!

  16. 21% reporting: Brown 53 and Coakley 46

  17. I just went to Boston.com, and had a very slow load to show Brown 53% & Coakley 46%.

It also showed that Coakley is starting to claim irregularities in the voting, laying the groundwork for a challenge so that the Democrat vote-counting machine can go to work.

Wonder what make of car it will be this time?

  18. Let me get the straight. Massachusetts is a predominantly controlled by Democrats, yet there are voting irregularities throwing the election to a Republican?

Leave it to those waskely Wepublicans. They don't steal elections in areas they control, the go into areas controlled by Dems to do their dirty work.
